Evening guys, OK i need some help, my mother in law wants to change the lighting in her front ro0om. She has two fittings, and two single switches, which can control the two fittings. I need if possible to change one of the switches to a double so she can turn off one set of lights on an evening. Don't want to lose the second switch as she uses this at the other end of the room. So ideal situation will be second switch controls only one sent of lights, double switch controls both lights independently, with one set linked to the second switch, does that make sense? Hers is what i have now. If its easier i can draw this out.

Hi all, I need to fit a petwise PIR to our Veritas R8 system. Additionally I need to move the PIRs because we are fitting coving. I therefore need to get in the programming menu to turn off the tamper. However I have tried the default engineers code (1234) and have tried resetting the engineers code by doing what I believe was a factory reset, powering the system and batteries completely down, switching on and pressing RESET button. This reset our user code but Im still not having any joy with the engineers code. I have managed to reinstate our user code but I think the Part Set settings have been retained so I am not convinced that I did the reset properly. The alarm …

Saw an app today from a major security co that, even though the system is armed by the end user, will still gain access to the the engineer mode. It will record in the local log that this has happened, if it is to an ARC it may well be configured to send an 'engineer on site' signal, but I feel uncomfortable that this is even possible. Is this normal and acceptable? I fully understand that we, as professional companies, can gain access to remotely service a system even though it is armed, subscriber may well sign a document to accept this, but most of the time if UDL is required to actually go into engineer mode and change settings etc, they will have to acknowle…

Hi, Can you tell me if the G2-12/G2-20 panel are similar in programming to the older galaxy 60s, i.e in terms of having the option to program zones as 'security', 'Bells', etc and also if the onboard outputs have similar options. I've installed and programmed a galaxy 60 with few problems but was wondering if the newer ones have the same sort of options or not. Any information would be welcome. Kind regards Craig

Well, it's 2014 and I'm forcing myself to start looking at porting the Galaxy virtual keypad Android app over to the iPhone. I bought an iMac for this task over a year ago, but only managed to spend a few hours here and there trying to get my head around Xcode and writing some very basic apps. So far I've managed to get the interface working in the iOS emulator, but still a long way to go. Anyone else doing anything interesting ?

Just had a bit of a 'situation' at the local cinema. Booked tickets for a film with mrs and miss Matt only to find the film on this showing has bloody subtitles. When I protested (immensely) that I wasn't ******* deaf and didn't need subtitles or sign language the manager thought I was being unreasonable because if someone was deaf they could watch. Subtitles annoy the **** out of me when I have accidentally pressed the button on a DVD at home. Is this me being a **** or would going to a film with subtitles without being told would you feel annoyed and would flashing words across the screen lessen your viewing pleasure?
