  1. Installed a garden centre about 2 years ago with 38 wired zones and now because they are extending we have to move it. All expanders are in the panel aswell. A total ball ache. What joint boxes does everyone use for the amount of wiring? Will have to move the line aswell.....FFS!

Bit of an odd Need, some opinions please guys . I have Client who runs a block of flats which has one tennant who tends to be particularly obnoxious by habit, every so often he cause's a ruck with other tennants. Last week a spat starts, from viewing the clips (which are very clear and yes i did install it) this guy arives home but two women residents are chatting and partially blocking access the underground garage, so he drives around them - no audio so i'd guess some words of their positioning and his driving ability advice were 'offered'. The women are still their when he leaves again around 20 minutes later to return his loan car, so again he go's to drive around …

  4. Hi Guys! just wanted to ask how much you estimate on hours when you quote? so for a four camera system do you just do one hour per camera then three hours on top for any issues that come along the way?

Hello - - I'm searching for a reasonable PTZ Dome camera with Audio. Just an ordinary camera not an IP one. One direction Audio would be fine, i.e. from the camera to the control. Either an inbuilt Microphone or with a socket for one. Pricewise I would prefer £100s rather than £1000s. Thanks. Rosko

Other than a junction box can anyone tell me how I can join a potted cable from a new contact to an existing alarm cable? Background. I am a recently accredited engineer but find myself with a little challenge of a problem. I have an existing 25mm door contact that has failed in a metal door frame. The existing contact is a CQR FC507 flush mount which is no longer made. This contact just had two terminals on the back the the cable used to go into. As I said the door frame is metal and it is impossible to now run a new cable into the frame as it does not come apart at all. The existing cable cannot be used as a drawer wire as it has been sealed in the fabric of the b…

It's rare I use public transport. The desirable characters on this train remind me why that is. A character opposite, both his looks and his body language would be perfect for the Kyle show. During the past 20 minutes his phone has made more irritating noises than a piano falling down a set of stairs but hey, at least in doing my bit for the environment. If his phone irritates me much more I might do my bit for society too and put him under the wheels of the train Anyone else stick to their car/van religiously and avoid doing your bit for the planet?

I sent away for a pocket guide on fire regs which has been a really useful tool for me, so I am now wondering if there is a similar thing for intruder. Anyone know of anything?

Feeling a bit smug really and want to tell the world. 8 months of hard work has paid off. I was expecting the auditer to "file" all my paperwork in the nearest trash receptcial and he seemed to love everything. Passed the inspection with flying colours. So now my company is SSAIB acredited for Intruder, CCTV and Access control. Nearly went out and bought a gold star to stick to my chest.

Quick question. Got a house with existing powerline wifi extenders around the house, all working fine. I'm going tomorrow to fit a dvr in the loft, but needs networking. Will plugging another wired pair in cause any issues??

Hi guys I'm looking for a wireless transmission system. Dome camera and microphone 400 metres line of sight from the control position. Obviously video and audio coming one way and telemetry going the other. No internet facility available or required.
