It's been a while since I've done a full install, but I agreed to fit a domestic for a friend in need. Jeez, I had forgotten how much work it is and why I write software now. I just can't imagine doing it day in day out. I was shattered after it. An 8 zone install on a Galaxy G2 with Ethernet in a bungalow and it took 8hrs solid working on my own. The house had a previous owner DIY install, but it was a mess and more of a hindrance, so I had to rip out and bin wires and all. Felt a bit sorry for my friend as the companies she had out to re-do the plumbing and re-wire electrics hadn't done very tidy jobs. Respect to the guys fitting tidy hard wired systems.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/google/10832179/Google-gets-right-to-be-forgotten-requests-hours-after-EU-ruling.html What do we think. Fair or censorship? Like these new DBS restrictions seems people with past history are going to find it more easy than ever to keep it all in the past. What should have presidence? Right for others to know or your right to privacy?

One says Power and the other says CDS I can find a 42 led ir illuminator board on the internet but not one with the TWO connections. Do you know where I can source one? Videcon aren't interested in helping me now that I am retired from the IT world

Ok so for anybody that has the slightest bit of interest here's a link to my Soundcloud, few tracks on there i have been gofing around with and a couple we intend to play as a band. Just started rehearsing with a couple of guys, we plan two months rehearsal of a 20 song set, got a singer lined up, then its off to the local pubs and clubs to show off our wares. Might be good might be bad, but we are at the moment having a great deal of fun and gelling quite nicely as a band. Anyway have a listen, and all comments gratefully received, good or bad. https://soundcloud.com/maxsys/tracks

  9. I'm just looking at changing some theoretical vulnerabilities into actual exploits on some IP signalling boards. Some of these would rely on the signalling board being accessible on the network from a PC (specifically, can the PC send broadcast traffic and the signalling board receive it). So when these boards are installed, how is the network connection normally provided? Is it just plugged into any available network port? Is a specific VLAN created (or any other segregation from the rest of the network)?

Hi all, has anybody had any trouble setting partitions with the i-on hybrid ? my problem is this, i have a full set, a part set (b) and a garage set ©. i am aware of having to program each rkp to set a,b,c which i have, i have (i think) programmed the 2 rkp's to set partition 2 with the "c" key and programmed the selected zones (garage detection) "yes" in both partition 1 and 2. when i set the system ( C ) it sets but nothing seems to be set, i can walk around the garage and open doors i thought were set. i have done similar with set "b" and that is ok although they are all in partition 1. any ideas ?

Got a mickey mouse job to attach two fixed calls to a wireless nursecall type system, they don't want cords and so I was thinking these via the jacks - http://www.knightplastics.com/view_item.asp?id=276 Bear in mind this isn't for elderly / dementia etc... Anyone used them before, can't imagine you have as they don't latch, but if so, are they reasonably robust? Ta!

As a self employed engineer, with no NSI membership, can I subcontract for NSI gold companies or do I have to join the club? I have worked for many years at NSI gold firms so I know all the standards we have to work to.

Hi guys, hope I am posting this in the right forum. My car recently been vandalised while parked on my drive, since then I've been really paranoid! Decided to install CCTV, I wanted it to alert me by text via GSM dialer when it detected movement in the vicinity of the drive! The installer recommend GJD Dtect2 for reliability, but I have recently discovered there are animal immune detectors, so I won't have false alarms, are these any good? Could I find anything similar for outdoor use? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!
