Hi all, this is my first post on the forum so please be gentle with me!! I have purchased a new house and am looking to use the alarm that is fitted in the property. The previous owners did not use the alarm. It looks like it could be a Gardtec 370 from the keypad. I am aware it may be a 500 series but I can't seem to find any reference to the series number. The keypad has fb in the display. I would like to find out how I go about starting to use the alarm. I do not have any manuals or previous codes. Thank you

We've been told that the UK came out of recession some time ago and that a double dip is unlikely, but does anyone else think things might now be on the up? Public sector cuts are over 4 years so possibly not going to be as bad as labour say. Those who follow the markets will know that the FTSE 100 reached 6000 recently for the first time since I think 2008. Mining and oil stocks have done well lately indicating an increase in demand for raw materials, surely this means demand for finished goods looks set to rise globally. China etc have massive growth. The UK banks have got themselves turned around to some extent, quicker than predicted. The Euro zone hasn't fallen…

This won't effect most people, but it will in some cases.... DVLA have just introduced a new rule to cut down on the number of uninsured vehicles on the roads. From this month it's a legal requirement to have insurance for any vehicle which is taxed even if it's not being used on the roads. Initially they will send a notice to anyone infriging this new rule with a £100 fine if no action is taken. They're going to add the MOT to this arrangement at a later date ..... so every vehicle will be either SORN or taxed, insured and MOT'd. So hopefully most illegal vehicles will be removed from the road and then the Police will be able to concentrate on what they prefer to do ..…

I have quite a lot of powermax complete and pro panels out there and want to be able to use the remote programming software. I have the download code and associated upload/download settings set correctly in the majority of installed panels. I have the latest download of remote programming software on my laptop. I have tried using the software with my laptop modem connected to the telephone line. It dials in and communicates with the panel, checks the download code (which i have doubled checked) and then comes up with communication error. I cant get it to work and I think its something to do with the list of recommended modems that visonic have listed in the comm settings …

Hi All, Hope this is the correct place to post and ask advice. I'm in the process of a new build house and am at first fix wiring stage which I'm carrying out myself. I want some advice on a recommended security system for the house. I am looking for a centralised system with internet access for remote monitoring/control. I have already run 8 core alarm cable to most of the rooms on the ground floor and am about to start on the first floor. The panel will be mounted in the loft where I have brought all 8 core runs back to. In summary I am looking for advice on which manufacturer and product would be most suitable. I have summarised below the elements I'm looking f…

Hi, Has anybody heard of or come across the Integra 32 access control system? I attended a site recently and this was installed there. I found a website for them at www.aras-rbh.co.uk but i don't have much experience with their kit.

I've plumped for the hybrid Scantronic ion40 alarm system and am looking for some advice on flush mounted door contacts which are suitable for this panel. I need to fit these at first fix and therefore have to source these soon. I need a contact for the front door, one for the back and two for the patio doors. I want to flush mount them into the frame which is tricky but will look better when finished. Anyone got some recommendations on door contacts suitable for this panel or are they all much the same? Thanks for any advice.
