Not done a roller shutter with a removable wicket gate for lord knows how long. Normally, i've used a heavy duty surface contact wire to a junction box, then a long coiled 'door loop'. Never really liked the idea due to the possible damage. Just quoting a printers, Insurrance require 'bells only', so while some very expensive kit inside, alarm only needs G2. Being as i hate any avoidable possible faults, I might use a universal wireless Tx instead off the 'whirlygig' lead, just thought I'd ask if there are any new ideas/methods for this particular need. At one time, you had a jack plug socket and wander lead, but you can't use them today lol! Arfur

Hi guys. not been on here in sometime, but had a security related question and knew you guys would know the answers. I have an Aritech AS270 internal sounder which sounds when a panic button is pressed, and I was wondering if there was some kind of setting inside the unit to adjust the output sound, as we have a couple of branches and the other one sounds different (quicker siren if you know what I mean and a bit louder aswell. thanks very much for your help.

I have recently bought a new house with a Gardtec 595 system installed by the previous owner. It now refuses to set and is insisting on an ENg code + XXXX to set it. I dont have the code and have had to call out the installer for £85+Vat for a service and a reset. I am a qualified engineer, I dont want an expensive maintenance contract and my insurance is NOT conditional on haveing an alarm fitted. I suspect that the installer will want to sell me a maint contract and will not give me the engineers code. I have read with interest the various comments about supplying engineer manuals and fully understand the issues and risks but come on........... I own the system, have…

Was due an upgrade back in december, but cant make us mind up. I started using an iphone 3 or 4 months ago, but got rid last week - gone back to me nokia 5800, dam sight better. The iphone (3g one) is unbelievably poor using as a phone/texting. The plus point was manuals on it and remote cctv until the thicko's at adata upgraded the remote view software, iphone download it and its been **** ever since. I wanted the new nokia n8 but the after the p poor reviews with it locking up ect.. i rather not bother, let nokia sort it out first, but due to them going all quiet on the situation, i can see them loosing a few loyal customers. So the only other appealing to me is the…

Up to 8 years battery life on sensors / external siren etc. Impressive range capability (2000m line of sight claimed). Better diagnostics and at last proper testing of RF strength. Powermaster 10 is their first effort but more to come by the looks of it. Looks good to me but the proof will be in the pudding I guess.

Hi I am just upgrading my system to include a Interactive Voice Module I have installed a phone line to the pannel and fitted the module, I have also enabled it in the cotrol pannel and also set up FM with a number. The Moduel which is a RP128EV00UKA has been connected via the supplied leads one which connects to BUS1 and one to the Voice connector on the control pannel. Now For the problem I get a Voice Tamper Fault when i exit the system, the instalation manual makes no ref to the tamper function on the board other than if you opt for the MBU to connect it to that, I have also enabled the onboard MIC. Can anyone help with this problem? I think it may just need a re…
