Recently i have been doing internet searches on companies that use the word NACOSS in their pages, Im not 100% sure but i will check but im seeing a lot of firms claiming for example 'provide electrical and security installations to NACOSS, NICEIC Standards. We also provide Redcare and Redcare GSM Intruder and Fire Alarm Monitoring for home and business. CCTV, Cameras, Burglar, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Door Entry Systems, Cat 5 Cabling, Fire Protection and Fire Al' etc is this acceptable? ie in the eyes of the consumer nacoss standards sounds good does it not? Is it permitted to use that phrase when the company providing the system isnt inspected or approved …

Just took delivery (for spares) of what I guess will be our last Aplex 100, Aplex Keypad, 3 Block Software, A Lems, Quad Lems and C Lems, all now retired by Europlex. While I am many years dealing with Aplex (remember Zonaplex) on both installation and maintenance, I for one won't miss them. Lifes a lot easier without 'Literal Edit'. Bye Bye Aplex and remember folks don't hit accept when the display says "ZAP? " - I learned that one the hard way.

  10. This happened around 10 years ago at a pyrotechnics manufacturing site we used to deal with. We used to buy red dye smokes off them for CiT applications back in the day when that was what was done. Anyway, one night some bright sparks decided to try and break into the Work in Progress (WiP) shed using a gas axe to get through the steel doors. On the other side of the steel doors was a significant quantity of unfinished pyrotechnic product. These photos are part of a series of 16 of the resulting devastation. My personal favourite is the "getaway vehicle" or what was left of it. It is assumed that the intruders heard the fireworks starting to go off and prudently ran. C…

Had an issue last night while at work, missus phoned to say the rads were all cold and the stat wouldnt go any higher. Got home to an error light on the boiler. Error in the manual was a flame out. Check gas pressure etc. As we are on LPG I thought **** ive run out of gas and its -10, went and bought some coal, logs etc and planned a huge fire. Kept the house warm with 2 electric heaters, the hob and a proper proper fire, suprised the grate didnt melt. Anyway as i was having such a fire i was staying awake and came accross bosch's forum (boiler) and people were reporting the same error as mine, called a plumber etc to find the condensate pipe had froze. Never did la…

I am planning a DIY installation of a wireless intruder security system in our home in Thailand. I know there is a DIY forum but I am interested in the opinions of the professional members of the forum of this new wireless technology (called Powerg) due to be introduced by Visonic in 2011. It will only be available in the US at first so I may order from there. http://www.visonic.com/innovation-technology/technology-leadership Thanks!
