Working today, 1st job. 3 PIRs in place of existing. Going well, things nice and easy. Great customer, having a laugh and a chat as working. Get him to look at the devices, ( small bit of filler needed) and happy. Asked for hoover and went to work. As the dust sheet did not get all. Kneeling down getting a bit of dust off skirting, stood on one foot and raised other leg............ Got the cheque and went on about more calls. Saved me going home or buying some e…

Hi guys, returning to the site after a prolonged absence. I fitted an I-on 16 with two wired rkps and within a few weeks the customer advised that they had returned home, unset the system, but the rkps were sounding every second and an unusual message was appearing on the keypad. Long story short, the panel could only be reset after powering down and up again. Scantronic say the keypads are using beta software and they have agreed to replace them. Was anyone else aware that Scantronic had panels on general release using beta software, and with no warning???? Regards.

Anyone know where I can get an external access control keypad from, Just looking for a simple external one, Would be a bonus if I could match it to their existing one. They have a DG15 installed at the minute, Its not in a secure area or high risk environment, so it does not have to be separate electronics. One of the cheap china ones would do to be honest for what it is and where its going to be installed. Only problem is, I need to get it tomorrow. Can travel within 20 - 30 miles from Stoke, Any ideas who's open on Saturdays. ,

Hi guys, If you havent caught it, heres my introduction post http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/33697-introduction/ Yesterday I was given an Agility system to put together and have a play with before I go to site on monday to fit (this in itself is a MAJOR breakthrough as normally with new systems we get given the box on the morning of the job and are told to "see how you get on with it" For the last year we have been fitting the 490x hybrid panel with wireless detection in domestics. I find this system so easy to install and programme compared to the scantronic ion (the only other hybrid system I've fitted), and the usability for the custom…

I want to buy a prosys 128 -based system to install at a holiday home overseas, including detectors. No training in it but it looks fairly straightforward from the installer manual. I know about 90% of what I need but not sure of the remaining 10%. Is there anyone here who can help me with the remaining 10% and sell me the system?

Hey everyone, I'm in my second year of University, going into my third and so I'll be starting work on my dissertation soon. I'm thinking about topics for this and I thought it would be interesting to investigate an intelligent vision system for intrusion detection. Does anything like this already exist in the field? It may be useful for outdoor spaces where animals could trigger a normal PIR, integration with CCTV would be a possibility. Any thoughts, comments/suggestions?

hi all. setting up groups on a GD96. story is the owner wants all the house to work as one when they go out but then there in they want to have the option to set all the shock sensors on the windows as another group for when there in in the daytime or before they go to bed. I have tryed setting all the shocks as there our group A2 and the reset of the sensors as another group A1. so when they go out they arm both groups but when they come in it only turns off the group A1 and dose not turn off A2? I know there is setting for how one group affects another but never had to do much with groups on a galaxy. thanks Dan.

I installed the above Security Alarm System approx. 2 years ago and it has worked fine! In the last few days however I have noticed a problem! When I set the Alarm, the exit tone ceases when I open the Exit Door then it starts again when I close the Exit Door! Prior to this happening, after setting the Alarm, the exit tone increased in tempo when I opened the Exit Door and then resumed at normal tempo when I closed the Exit Door! I have restored the Panel to Factory Settings and then I have reprogrammed it but to no avail! Any assistance would be most appreciated!
