Can any one put me on to an alarm for a metal container on a remote site. Problem is power, there is none apart from a generator fired up a couple of times a day, and its also left for up to 5 days without attendance. Network coverage is excellent, its the power issue thats important. Ta

Hi I've installed my Infinite Prime and programmed it but just can't get it to work consistently. I know that it's something small I've overlooked but my brain has just stopped now and I need a professional to finish the installation and test it for me. I have not installed the siren yet.

I have a Vivid FSK 16 channel dvr which came with Vivid 4.0 firmware and application software. The FSK is the same machine as the Vivid +, only it has an extra removable board inside for PTZ control. The Vivid + has 50pps and audio recording, whereas the FSK version only has 25pps and no audio. I have removed the PTZ board and now need earlier versions of the Vivid + software to get my FSK to behave like a Vivid +. y-i-out-of-bed member was looking for Vivid 4.0 software, maybe a swop is possible?Could RayA or bgd help? Or anyone with these Baxall machines. Thank a lot. richard

I've got to grips with how to use various resistors to detect combinations of Tamper, Alarm, Fault and Mask using only 2 wires to the PIR or Mag, and it also looks like this DEOL scheme will distinguish a short between the 2 feed wires or one of them being cut. Now I read the book we talked about in another post, and it calls this scheme "Triple Resistor FSL 2 Wire". Which is the correct term please, or have I misunderstood it?. Also, why call it Triple Resistor, when there would be 4 resistors if it was a detector with Tamper, Alarm, Fault and Mask ? bee

Gate has been banging for a night and a bit now!!! ( Was not sure which one until a quick recce) They have gone away and not secured the side gate. Which isn`t too bad until you consider the SE wind from the English Channel is a basket and loves to give the gate a work out at silly O`clock. Handy sometimes as it also washes the motor So now gone out in barefoot and secured the bloody thing. Call out charge? Would you? Certainly considering it. PS, Does this disturbed sleep mean I can ask for time off in lieu the next morning as it is not of my making? (Note to self, if I had not posted this. Could be trying to sleep as gate is now secured). …

We've just gone from the change of being on nights for a week to doing it on a daily basis ( week in 6 to a day in 6 now ). We had to fight with management about lay off time. The work directive clearly states 8 hours lay off time from getting back home. For all the engineers out there who don't take the lay off time and play the "hero" were you to have an accident the following day YOU will be liable as YOU were in an unfit state to drive. Health and safety will also be over your company like a bad rash. Personally I have a family and mortgage to look after and there's no way I will put MYSELF at risk. An engineer can be replaced .... Life can't

I'm after a bit of advice RE what uniform/safety wear should your employee provide. Before I begin let me tell you that my employer only provides a tshirt and jumper with logo on, hi vis, and hard hat. So most of the time I have to fill in the gaps with clothing that I have bought myself. The reason I bring it up is because I was asked to fit a dome on a swan neck bracket to a column today, in torrential rain. Now I don't mind working out in the rain/snow etc, if I am provided with the clothing to do so. Am I in the right to request waterproof coat (with hood), trousers etc and thermal gear for winter? I did half the job, but received some grief when I came away because…

Without, oh sod it hang on............... See that bit about 5 Seconds ??? Which is slightly less than the settling time. This means you see the shock(s) open and then it sets. Congrats, you are there. It`s Millers time!! Actually as it is past 12 its stella time!! Although I can see the point here. Once you come out of your insulated world, step into the real one. You will find that trying to get that particular rule enforced is a shortcut to to the Job Centre. I`m still battling for a Solo test kit, I think I`ll leave this one for the time being.
