I need to choose my words carefully here. This installation is to be in a children's home, The Children will be naughty boys and or girls who will require 24 hour supervision. The owner wants an LCD pad in the office so the 250 events will be recorded. A front door contact (Zone 1) and contacts on two bedrooms up stairs (Zones 2 & 3). The chime facility will be used when the system is unset on Zone 1, the front door. At night, when the system is armed, he wants Zone 1 the front door to be instant alarm, OK no problem Here comes the hard part, but he requires both upstairs bedroom doors to be on chime, as an indication that they have left thei…

Fitted first one other day. And for the first time had a customer ask me to put the england dialling code before the phone numbers. I didnt think it made a difference these days? He spends a lot of time out of the country and i humoured him when he said he wanted the dialling code programmed in. But theres no way of programming a + and if you type the dialling code in various different formats the dialler doesnt even dial the number on trigger as if not recognising it. Will the dialler still call his mobile if he is in a different country?

i managed to get my boss to give me a COM-GSM for free to go with my elite 24 in my house. we have a few sites that use them, but they make up a very small minority so we don't have that much experience with them. the deal for him giving it to me was for me to get my head around it, learn how it works, etc. because we've got a big multi site contract to do soon which will be using them. i've got it setup nicely, using PC output 1 to open my front door and stuff. however the system doesn't seem to be letting me turn things off. for example, if i text: #### arm - the system arms. but if i type: #### disarm - the system stays armed and doesn't disarm. same for PC o…

Hi, I have just tested my Texecom communicator and it doesn't work. It worked fine previously, but hasn't been activated for 12 months. When I tested it, it didn't connect to my mobile to play the pre recorded message or send a text. I get a dial tone and the number dials on the communicator but i hear the message "The number you have dialled has not been recognised". Can someone tell me what the service centre number is for sending text messages and is there a pre fix for the outgoing call (ie does it go through a service centre or just dial my mobile number like a normal phone? I am on orange mobile and sky for my home phone. Thank you in advance. James

Went out to a local call Friday, do fix a couple of easy faults for a new management client. Gated development, in a mews. So you have a front panel at the gate, then another panel at the common door of each cluster of flats. After original build, 4 more flats were added alongside, but developer did not fit any door entry, made it a tad awkward for visitors. Legal threats the usual hub bub and residents win. Result? Incredibly 2 identical VR. 10 button Front panels one above each other, both with the exact same legend, press upper flat 1 button get speech from upper panel, ditto for lower so ok individual speech modules. Original kit is Entryphone, newer kit is Bell, …
