My new property has a Scantronic 9427 which I presume is the 9448 alarm. Nobody knows the code for the keypad. Does anyone know how I get round this to find the code and/or reset?

Just been busy! So stop thinking you have gotten away from me This took me a couple of days to move into and sort out bits and bobs. All moved in, and enjoying the 1, Garden. 2 The BBQ, 3 the new suite. At last..............I can cook and do whatever. 3 and a bit months in a B&B almost did me in! So now settled in a nice abode, thank god I turned down the other proop the estate agents tried to palm me off with. A big thank you to a certain person, he knows who he is. Might sleep in the new recliner, damn comfy and a bargain at 20 times the price!

Hi, A few months back some of you kindly answered some questions forme about configuring an Agility panel, which was very helpful. However, shortly afterwards some scrotes broke in and in the process of trying to shut the panel up destroyed it ... So it has been replaced with an Agility 3. I have had it supplied and installed by a reputable alarm firm, but I am wanting to set up the follow-me stuff on the GSM and I am having a few problems. The SMS follow me works fine. I have set up the parameters for an email one (my intention os to get everything reported that way, regardless of how else it might be), but I get the old triple-beep treatment when I try to…

I got sent a couple of interesting presentations about Visonic PowerG recently - I've put them in the upload area: http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/files/file/1152-visonic-powerg-overview/ http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/files/file/1153-why-visonics-powerg-is-superior-to-standard-rf-protocols/ There's a couple of presentations about hacking Z-wave/Zigbee coming up at Defcon, so it's of note that Visonic looked at Zigbee as an option for alarms. Note that it tells you there system uses 4 hopping frequencies at 64hops/s in the 868MHz band, which although technically is FHSS, is a long way from adding any security or noise immunity.

Morning all, I'm starting to look at signalling devices (due to popular demand)... I've got hi-res pics of most units but CSL Dualcom put their communicators in plastic boxes, so all the meat is covered up. Has anyone got a hi-res pic of a CSL Dualcom unit without the plastic casing that they could send? A scan of the board would be even better. ! Andrew

I've always viewed tsi as a down the pub meeting of alarm companies. A few suppliers have also joined in the debate and the ones that have embraced it have done well and the ones that have been schoolyard bullies have lost. Most people on here are employees of a n other and in another thread there is a perceived threat against an employee for daring to have discussed an issue with the suppliers product/service. This got me thinking, whilst we have welcomed suppliers to the forum, would the fact that those suppliers may talk to engineers bosses frighten people into not posting issues and exxperiences which is the whole point of the forum? My view is my guys are fre…
