I have a customer who wants a live dummy bellbox. i.e. a fully powered bellbox with sounder disconnected and not connected to an alarm. My dilema is whether to put my own signwritting on it. On one hand it gives obvious advertising advantages, however on the other hand, it puts the integrity of my signage into question if the fact that this bell is a dummy becomes common knowledge. A dummy without power is one thing, but to imitate a working alarm makes me think a little more about it. Opinions please and examples of common practices Thanks

  4. Im wondering what the thoughts are here. Historically we have always let a thread wander off in whatever direction it ends up in. However this then makes the topic title misleading as when looking at a title and the content at the beginning it ends up wildly different by the end of page 1. Just an open debate to see if we need to change anything here?

Hi Guys, I am looking for a document or some form of standard agreement that I can adapt to my needs. Due to us having so much on at the minute and struggling with the demand, I have another local installer who is offering their services to help us with general service & maintenance. To protect things from both sides, I am looking for a template of agreement that could be used by us Basicly, We will not poach or approach any his own customers & he wont poach any of ours etc etc. Do any of you guys actually use this type of thing ? If so, is anyone willing to share and mail me a copy over. Much appreciated

ill start by saying it seems its a dying show, its been getting smaller and less relevant to me at least. Mostly I go because its local to me (wont be going to London) and to say hello to people. I did see some interesting stuff though. Honeywell had the axs with usb attached storage for cctv images without a server. webway had the 3g stuff with cctv alarms linked to panel data saw a few home automation bits that interested me and some had higher end bms options. spent a bit of time in the korea area with a secware interest, fortunately simon was with us as I was out my depth on the language bit. Bosch had a 'starlight' camera which imo was just any old camera with …

Hello, just installed galaxy 264 in a factory with 2 areas. There is a keypad in reception and 1 in the security gatehouse. The management want security to fully set system with fob in gatehouse when last man out at night, but also want a separate fob to be able to set/ unset area 1 and another fob to be able to set/ unset area 2. Can I set it up like this on galaxy as setting/unsetting full set or 1 of the other areas is ok but then I cant set /unset the other area. I have changed the area in max set up but it only allows me to set 1 individual area. I know it can be done with 1 fob only but management dont want this. Any help would be great. ps if on…

I am considering replacing my old Chubb Windsor Alarm panel that I installed about 18 years ago with a Castle Castle Euro Mini Prox or Euro 46 Panel. I am hoping there are some Castle users/installers here that can help... My requirements are as follows:- 10 Zones minimum 3 Keypads Option for system set output without loosing any of the 10 zones. Option to show system set light on keypad? Option to connect to PC Option to send SMS messages. I think I will have to stretch to the Euro 46 panel for all the options, I have a rough idea but can anyone on here give me some idea of the kit I need?

  14. I've had some really good feedback from this forum, rather than the usual "it's like that because it's always been like that" attitude that the other alarm forums seem to have. So - a fairly simple question - why do manufacturers and installers restrict access to manuals and codes? I've not yet had an alarm panel that I couldn't get a manual for (though, some of them have required a degree of social engineering). There's no magic bullet to disable these alarms in the manuals. There's more than enough rope for a DIY or inquisitive user to hang themselves, but they'd need a code anyway? As for codes, surely these are never left as default?
