Just received a letter today, From our local ARC that they are closing their monitoring service. The company we use are Security Services, They are just 5 minutes away from us. Some on here are familiar with them. Its just a brief letter stating that due to expansion and company growth in other areas that they have decided to appoint EMCS as the provider ands out-source all their monitoring to them. All current customers will be migrated over coming weeks. They are also giving the option to cancel and move to alternative providers if you wish, and issue credits where due. They will no longer be accepting any signalling after March 31st 2013, Thats their final dat…

Afternoon all, Ive been clearing out some paperwork and came accross a copy of an old exam i had to do for one of my previous employees, made me laugh as im pretty sure i used nothing in the exam whilst i worked for them. Just thinking has anyone else recently sat one of these style questionaires and are they still all the same? ohms/electrical power, resi's in series and parallel, capacitors etc? Had anything weird? Just for laughs. Regards R

So, will any of you guys be going along to the Professional Security Magazine - Security Twenty 13 event in March? Looks like it could be a nice prefix for IFSEC with a more focused set of presentations to get everyone under one roof.

can anyone recommend a very good camera for a pub - the pub is poorly lit inside , ( not so many lights abouts) - but sufficient lighting to read a newspaper. ive got a couple of com085 cameras from system q , had thought about a couple of nite devils //// a camera that is really good in low light and one which could give a really good colour picture in these conditions without relying on infrared would be ideal 3.5mm- 8mm lens would be fine.

Hello my first posting on this forum. Any help with the following would be greatly appreciated. 1. Would a Ultima bell box purchased 10 years ago have the TWM input facility? 2. If a Ultima bell box with TWM is connected to a Scantronic 9800. Are the 1K resistors required in the control panel? Having read the instruction manual, the only Scantronic panel it mentions about putting the 1K resistors in, is the 9448. Many thanks for your help Chris Curran.

http://www.engadget.com/2012/12/27/secom-offers-a-private-security-drone/ Modern security cameras are rather limited: if an incident doesn't happen within a pre-defined field of vision, a company won't know what's happening until it's too late. Its customized Ascending Technologiesquadrotor can take to the air if there's a break-in and record what's happening, even in areas that would normally represent blind spots. The automaton can also track moving subjects with a laser sensor and knows enough to keep its distance. Japanese firms wanting Secom's rob…
