Hi all, I have an old Securit 700l installed in my house, been there since 1996 according to the paperwork, I have been in 8 years and its been fine. It has now stopped functioning and i have decided it is time for an upgrade. I am therefore looking for a reliable DIY alarm that I can install in its place. I am hoping to use the working PIRs internal sounders and panic buttons as well as existing wiring. I need a new bell box and keypad and want to add a couple more PIR's. Makes a total of 8 PIRs 2 door contacts 2 panic buttons The wife would like an attractive looking keypad. Also is it possible to program so I can enter the house either through the front door, …

Hi all, First time posting on here- I have been installing castle /Pyronix products for the 8 years and have encountered a problem recently which I have not seen before, recently I switched to the new castle caretech euro 46 ( been installing these for around 2 years with no issues ) i installed a euro 46 panel with two expanders and a wirelesss expander around 6 months ago which has been working fine, recently the panel went dead, after some investigating I discovered the transformer in the panel was not putting out any voltage, however there was still 240v going into the transformer, so I replaced the transformer all was working ok 24 hours later same thing transforme…

Help, I have a scantronic 9751 fitted and have recently suffered a break-in in the shed which was not alarmed, I have purchased a scantonic rfx08 wire free expanader and got it connected to the main panel, the expander is configured for zones 17 upwards, i have fitted the wirefree contacts on the shed and when coming out of engineer mode all i get is faults for zone 17 and 18 - this is the zones that the expander assigned the wire free detectors to. What am I doing wrong? The rest of the system have EOL resisters so after the failed first attempt I fitted a standard door contact to the shed and wired this to the wirefree contact, jumpering out the internal reed switch …

Hmm i am not sure if i already posted this as a guest I have an Intellex LT with a 160gb hdd in it. Os / data. Needless to say the more cameras i add the less days i can record. The ESM's aren't really an option to me mainly due to expense and getting hold of them and even assuming they work on this old thing. So hence me coming here asking you guys. The unit is running on NT. Can i add a 2nd hdd say a 500gb, bigger are hard to find in IDE form. And use this with the 135gb part of the 160gb hdd. Which essentially means i would have 2 databases. I suspect this is not an option and would have to rip out the 160gb drive and replace it with the 500gb one. But i have this…

We have a Scantronic 9651 which has suddenly come up with a 'Batt Missing error'. I am assuming it is referring to the 12 volt battery in the control unit. I have checked, the battery is there and it measures 13 volts, also checked the battery fuse. I tried disconnecting the battery and the mains, just in case something had got confused and needed a power reset. Anyone seen anything like this before? Any advice would be must appreciated before I condemn the control unit to the bin. Many Thanks.

Not sure where to put this but maybe someone could help. been asked to quote by an exisiting customer. They have just upgraded 2 Sky boxes to HD and are currently using the RF output and a 4 way coax splitter on each box to feed 4 Tv's each with 2 signals ( one from either box) They wish to have all 4 HD tv's to use the HD output from either box - so 2 HDMi inputs at each point. the runs are a great distance maybe 30M to the furest point. Controling the Sky box from the TV point isnt required . been looking at a HDMi 4 way splitter and running 2 cat 5s to each tv and then using HDMI to Cat 5 Convertors but its starting to get a bit messy , there must be a better …

I have a Premier 48 installed in home. This needs to be extended to cover 2 sheds at bottom of a 50m garden. One shed has mains power. Any suggestion please on suitable wireless door contacts and receiver. Is the Ricochet a good add-on to do this. I cannot see much feeback on quality and range for this system.

I recieved a email saying my tarriff was ending and new charges were to be applied, also a new daily standing charge, When calling them I was spoken to like a child and also told I have difficulty in counting. This went down well as you can expect. So basically they were charging approx £9.00 a month plus a higher ( 3 times ) KWh rate. Now I have a tarriff where this new pricing exceeds my avergae consumption. When I said your having a giraffe and do you think I want to stay with you the bloke got very condesending. I asked for a manager /supervisor and he refused saying he needed a better reason to get a manager. After asking 5 more times I then told him he was a cnut …
