Hi all, thanks for looking, I've moved house from which a Infinite Prime system was installed & have now installed my own system and have a problem:- The panel displays "Disarmed System Trouble" when I scroll down the next line reads "Program Correct Comm. Interface" Has anyone any idea how to deal with this? I'm using the same GSM module and SIM card from my last house but installed into my new system. There is a PSTN module fitted but it isn't connected. I have tried "Find Modules" which has found the GSM unit, I have a good signal, TX test has each kit working OK. Can anyone help please. Thank you in advance, 5B4AJG

Hi all, Im having a problem with a galaxy intruder alarm panel. Basically its in a retail unit, the system is set up with 4 areas. A1-parimeters A2-Internal A3-cash office A4 warehouse . At about 5 o clock the client sets A3 and A4 succesfully, then at about 10 o clock the client will set A1 and A2 before departing the store. The problem is when A1 and A2 are set, the alarm triggers straight away. Ive been called out on friday when this happened, checked all zones and their programming which looks ok (as it should be as this alarm has already been working). So in order to establish which area is fault, I set A1 and A2 individually, and they set as they should, bu…

Hi, We are company who install CCTV, Intruder Alarm, Door Automation, Access systems and Intercoms. We are looking for a simple software, possibly free or open source, for inputting the details of the client, (address etc) as well as the equipment sold and installed. We would also like the software to have the functionality to schedule maintenance calls and what was done during the maintenance call etc. Anybody has any ideas what we can use? Thanks Ian

Following from the numerous posts in the IP signalling thread above, I would love to hear some constructive (even if negative!) feedback on my idea for a low / mid market IP signalling product - both on the product itself and the suggested route to marketing. I realise that this is an area where there are all sorts of vested interests and history to influence things, but any information from an installers (or indeed end users) point of view would be welcome. What I am suggesting is a low cost alarm signalling product that would signal using an existing wired IP connection - typically the customers home or business broadband. The unit would be a small metal box with a wi…

Following on from recent discussions and after finding out how poor IMO G2 and G3 signalling is under certain conditions I thought id start this discussion. Jef has pointed out on my blog that 'THE IP AGE IS UPON US' I always doubted that but feel its currently a viable option. My concerned about IP signalling are who provides the 'block' How do we test its an acceptable termination point What happens when the client blames us for his email, web access or whatever issues that were enever there before we fitted OUR alarm. I use IP everyday and rate it. I use it reliably for CCTV, but numbers wise I would have to use it a lot more IF it became our primary signalling…

It's amazing to find that as grown ups in business and in life, bullies still exist! All this talk about "partnership", "cooperation" and "team work" seems to be lip service when it comes to dealing with large companies on complex projects. What's disappointing is that they can't hide behind the large company excuse - after all, people are its culture and it is individuals choosing to be that way. I understand that our Clients are under pressure to deliver. After all, we all have a boss to report to. But surely there's no need to demean, embarrass or threaten to get something done is there? With a few large projects under our belt now, I'm beginning to think that the …

Hi all, I stumbled across this forum when trying to make sense of error codes listed on our nexius 8 alarm panel. I'd appreciate any help. The alarm system was only fitted approx 5 myths ago, but the installer is a nightmare to get hold off let alone arrive when he says he will.... Basically when I put in the arm code and hit 'yes' to set, the panel and keypad makes a continuous beeping sound, and the codes rr and a5 cycle in the display. After reading the programming guide, I understand rr to be reset required, however the guide only tells you how to give different authorisatiton for either all users or the engineer to be able to conduct a reset. What it does not exp…

  14. Hi All, My name is Lucy and I work at the Web Usability Partnership. We work with companies to make their websites more usable and recruit member of public to help us out. This time around I am looking for video security installers to help out with the redevelopment of the Sony Professional website. Its very easy and can be done on your PC or laptop - in your own home or office. We would send you a link to a website and you will be asked to undertake certain tasks using the site. (The site will be one that is currently under development and won’t be ‘live’). The survey will take about 20 minutes and we will pay £20 into your bank account, as a thank you, once you have …

Hello, I am currently setting up a texecom Premier 24, with 2 of these I have never fitted an alarm before, but thought I'd give it a go. I think ive not done too bad, just have a few small issues 1. The Indictor/Power light keeps flashing green, which should indicate that there is an AC mains failure, but I dont understand how I can have a failure, when I am getting power through the main AC. Both the fuses in the spur and inside the panel are both fine, and when I remove the fuse from the spur I then get an error message on the keypad as expected, so why is it still flashing? 2. After triggering the alarm, and putting my user code in the disarm, I am unable to res…
