Advice On Installation Location

Aren't those energy savings one nasty and noisy?

While I agree it's unlikely to cause an alarm, I have seen optimas go into tamper when a light was switched on.

Also extension speakers can click when the nearby light is switched on and off.

The ring main is cleaner IMO.

There's also the point above that the lighting circuit can trip if a bulb blows.

The 4 x fluorescents in my garage would kill any alarm, off the ring main imo.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Anybody care to explain how the noise on one circuit is prevented from appearing on all the circuits of the consumer unit ?

Thanks for all the replies.

I'll avoid the lighting circuit just in case then and won't put it in the loft.

I'll avoid the double knock feature too.

resistance probably..

Impedance, resistance is for direct current. (R = Z)

The further away from the source of consumer RFI the better.
