Hi guys, Having a very strange problem with an SD1 speech dialler and was wondering if anyone here could chuck some ideas myway. Right, Iv recently installed a Veritas R8 into a domestic property, connected to this which is triggered off the bell output is the SD1. When i was finishing off the install i couldnt get the SD1 to dial any of the numbers id programmed into it which i found strange as iv installed many of these in my 8 years experience in the trade and as many of you guys know on here the SD1 is simple, reliable and almost has a plug and play quality. So then, i did all the usual checks Line volts, filter, connections, voltage etc with still no joy. Thinking …

Afternoon, I have a question regarding max3 readers, i have recently installed one on a galaxy 60, when the system is unset the red led is on 3rd one down- when the alarm is set the top orange (read) Led is on, is this correct? ive set the max3 up to just set and unset the alarm- the fobs are set to 19-ALL SET and it works fine, When i installed one on a galaxy 48 the red led 3rd one down is on weather the alarm is set or unset and ive set it up the same works fine is this correct? the reason ive asked this question is because both are different with the leds Thanks Matthew.

Wanting some advice from anyone that has done this before. I have been asked by a customer to provide cctv link between two buildings. They only want to see a quad split in the second building, no control or anything fancy, just pictures. The distance between them is roughly 300m and clear line of sight isn't the best, that is why i'm thinking Wifi is the only answer. They do have a computer network but its locked down and I cant go on it. My first thought was to use microwaves etc but as i say clear line of sight is hard to achieve without going VERY high which isn't really practicable. That lead me onto thinking wifi but i've never seen it done before. I'd b…

Not sure this is the right place to post this, I want to be able to generate a email from a input, someone has mentioned Rasberry Pi, I have never used it but it does seem like it may be a option, so here is the scenario that I want to achieve: Relay operates and generates signal. The trigger generates a email that is forwarded to a pre set email. Any ideas?

hi all. here is one for you. in the past if a customer wanted there CCTV on there own TV i would use a modulator to create a analog channel and tune it into there TV and job done but now that all tv channels are now digital its starting to make this harder to do due to it not being that easy to switch most new TV from digital over to analog by press of a button. only other way u have done this in the past is to do a link wired or wireless to the scart socket on the TV. was just wanting to know your views and have you ever come across this issue? thanks for reading. Hi there, It's been a long time since I posted a question on here, so long that I had to re-register. I am trying to source the carbon brushes for a TEB TUB cctv camera. TEB is the manufacture, French I believe, and TUB is the type of camera. It's baiscally a cctv camera that operates on a track. The picture is degrading (flickering when the camer moves up.down the track) the brushes are wearing down and I am looking to find replacements. (4 in total) Does anyone have any ideas of where they can be obtained from?? Or suitable replacement ones.?? Thanks in advance. Craig.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can offer any help on this forum. I recently had the Scantronic 9651 alarm system installed in my property. Last month I had some work done on the house which involved the removal of glass above the doors. My newly installed alarm system had the PIR attached to the framework, As this has now been removed I am left with a dangling PIR and would like this fixed back up to the wall. I don't want to go touching anything if it could trigger the alarm, is there a way I can disable the alarm to re-attach it back to the wall? Many thanks in advance.

Just reconfigured a Webway for an end user who is having their network upgraded today and for some unknown reason is changing their IP range from a 192.168 network to a 10.0 one. For some other daft reason they are having is on a 255.255.0.0 subnet which I don't get as its a single site setup with about 40 devices internal network. Anyway that aside we had no warning they were doing this and just called in expecting the changes doing straight away. We only have a limited number of people who know how to do what they want but I was only watching repeats on watch so not too much of a hassle. It got me thinking though. To me 24 hours support is emergency support, but we get …
