thanks for that, so the EV 125 isnt grade 2 ?

That detector existed prior to en so wasn't sure but just checked my price list and it is grade 2 certified.

People actually make it confirm to regs ??!!

That causes me so much hassle when we go to mr customer and tell him he needs to change perfectly working detectors to meet en.

the company i work for regularly get inspected by ssaib, also i believe its a must with insurers for grade 2 detection on systems.

The word from above is talking what i have between my legs. 4737 still perfectly acceptable.

As for SSAIB inspections, they can only inspect to standard installed to, which if 4737 detectors perfectly fine.

not sure matthew but seems my butt is covered if they are grade 2 anyway !!

 

on another matter

 

i had an inspection the other week and when he inspected the roller shutter contact he pulled me up because i hadnt connected the tamper from the JB to the contact (inside the protected lead).

i had connected a pair in the JB (4k7) but he insisted i use the loop inside the lead so the tamper runs all the way to the contact. the JB was tamper proof
