Oxo
Seems Bulgaria and not the Womble from Wimbledon has learnt from the past and having a little take over of its own !!!
miaren
I've used these before, when I had to drop to 5V for old Paxton readers..http://cpc.farnell.com/xp-power/il1205s/converter-dc-dc-2w-5v/dp/PW02214

datadiffusion
Have used 3rd one down, actually seem quite well built. Its powering a USB powered micro wifi access point off a Scanny 95. Obviously just cut off USB if you don't want it! Looks like the listings have changed. I meant this one to save confusion - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-12V-to-5V-3A-15W-Step-down-Converter-Regulator-female-Panel-mount-USB-for-car-/161006629218?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item257cbe3162 I'm sure I have seen CE and e marked versions available too, mines just for a test lashup so not bothered. Plus whether the markings are genuine or just spare ink is also open to intepretation I know. arfur mo
For a little project i need a device to make 5v from 12 - 14v dc. i know i could build a regulator and heatsink etc but id rather buy something. Any suggestions. Load is between 0.5 and 1 amp iirc Maplins flog a simple kit, you could get a plug in stabilised adapter for about £14 from there, if sensitive kit stick a 10watt zenor diode across it to clamp any over voltage variance or spikes. If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
