Hi all This is my first post here so be gentle. I've just bought a house with a Risco Wisdom installed . Unfortunately the vendor didn't leave the code or remote fob behind and isn't answering message. Can this alarm be disabled or better , reactivated with a new code? Thanks Nick

hi, Just getting some builder to do some prep work to walls/electric and plastering and want to get everything ready before i decide to choose a company to install an alarm. 1. the FCU for the panel, what spec do i need to buy? from what i read something like 3a unswitched??. 2. I will place the BT cable from BT point to Control panel, with enough hanging out for engineer to do his thing. Where is the best place to get 3-4 metres worth and if you can provide a link so i know what it looks like. Thanks

I'm trying to design my HA project for my new home in China. Going with lighting, security, cams, whole house audio and video distribution. Will also use iPads for control. I am using Visio for designing and have this layout Does this look in anyway correct for the wiring and connections? I greatly appreciate all your input. I want to be sure before I pull the trigger and order all this Elk stuff.

keypad zones zone 1 on keypad mapped out as zone 42---> entry exit entry exit zone shows as healthy in wintex dp end of ln meaning zone is mapped and configured correctly!! yet when user details are inserted into the keypad to start entry exit no tones start the keypad just logs into the engineers access? any ideas I know generally that control panel zones like to start with zone 1 as entry exit but why give the option to mapp through the keypad which is near the final exit route if this does not appear to work? Premier 48 v8.25 software with Zone 1 set up as Guard Access type in Area A. Quote from manual "This zone type will also start the entry mode when the system/area is part armed and activate any output programmed as "Guard Access Alarm." Therefore when the system is part armed, my interpretation is that activating zone 1 should start the entry timer, and give me 30 seconds to type in my code and unset the system. However, activating Zone 1 when part set seems to set off an immediate intruder alarm. Is my interpretation incorrect?

Hi, About me: I know a little bit about alarms and I have installed an Accenta G3 (4 pirs, bell box, pressure mat) at my own house, no problems. I have been asked to look at a tamper fault on a friends alarm. It is a Securit 700L (installed in 1997). The tamper light is flashing on the main keypad, even after a full factory reset. I have taken the cover off the main unit and shorted out the tamper loop on the board. But there is still a tamper fault. Any ideas what else could be causing the fault. Perhaps the main board is faulty, does that ever happen? Any suggestions greatly welcomed. Thanks in advance. Mike

Hi all, I have a remote garage with no power supply & wanted a warning of any break in. Now i have a large car battery & a cheap mobile phone device that will ring a number upon being triggered with a 12 volt +-, & i thought i might be able to just use a PIR/Microwave & use this to trigger the mobile phone to ring me. But now realize that the alarm pair terminals on the PIR/Microwave is not a relay of sorts & wont work. Any suggestions on a cheap way to do this without using a panel ???????. (Need the PIR/Microwave because of conditions) Thanks Chris.

I need to replace my Power-sonic 12v 7ah battery, and was wondering whether it was worth paying extra for premium brands like this, or others luke Yucell or Yuasa, or go for a cheaper, unknown brand like the one from Screwfix: http://www.screwfix.com/prods/38315/Electr...00-x-65-x-151mm It's half the price but not sure if this is reliable or not, maybe someone technical has any comments, are they built from the same factory or better to invest in branded? FYI it's for domestic install on a Scanny, about 14-16 detectors with it's own circuit from the consumer unit. Low-risk situations.

Hi. Ive got a Honeywell Domonial Kit (control unit/ Remote Kepad + sensors) that I want to install. Unfortunately, I don't think this is designed as a DIY kit. Anyway, has anybody out there got an engineers installation manual that makes sense. I've got some basic instructions but they are not clear. Whan I power up the control unit without the front cover on, I get Led1 (fast flashing) and Led2-5 (slow Flashing). If I put the front cover on Led1 is off and Led2-5 fast flashing. I can contact the control panel to get information serial number etc from the keypad but then the keypad doesn't respond to any commands (not that I know what i should be inputting) anyway). A…
