Hi

Just installed a Scantronic 9651 system, once i power it up keypad says version number an is locked out cant enter anything on it or get into engineer mode.

Can someone please explain what i could be doing wrong

Sounds like a problem with the keypad wiring on the data side of it (Clk and Data terminals)

Double check that you have connected these to the same terminals at the panel and keypad ends. If so, you may have a damamged cable. In that case, try wiring the keypad on a short piece of cable straight to the panel and try again.

ive tried what u side above an have also belled the cables out an they are fine too!

Do a restart on the panel with the RKP on a fly lead.

You say "belled" cables, was that a continuity device or did you use Ohms ? Ohms will be more precise.

As above make sure the data lines are correct.

ah didnt check Ohms what reading should i get from 6-core alarm wire?

On a short length.? Almost zero. (i say almost, just in case there are any pedants around).

yes its new an has the original little metal links in the tamper an the PA

what about the tamper switch on the pcb? what code are you trying and are you pressing tick after entering the code?

it wont let me enter anything getting the beeping sound as if am doing something wrong (if that makes sense!)

if i reset the panel it lets me enter 5 key presses then starts doing the high error beep again

i am pressing 07890

Tamper switch on the PCB can u tell me a bit more detail?
