Hi All (again), I have just had a new roller garage door fitted which is motorised. It came with two crappy remotes and want to open and close the door from my 4 button keyfob, and by entering a code in the RKP. (gtec 595) I think it can be done, by setting a user as 'control' and also setting the keyfob button as control. I am ok wiring the motor connections, but where on the panel would i connect to? DO you prog outputs to follow control or similar? I think i'm missing somthing simpe? Pls help! Thanks in advance. Andy

Hi, I have just added a nova active sounder to my system, it is working fine. The internal sound bomb makes a weird noise when in unset state. Can internal sounders not be used as well as nova active? Thanks, Andy

Hello, I have installed a wired alarm system in a 'holiday cottage' about 500-600m from the main house. If it activated I would not hear it going off due to the geography/trees etc. There is no phone line in the cottage. How can I relay the signal to the main house as cheaply as possible? Just a buzzer would do! The alarm is an Accenta G4. Any suggestions appreciated. Neil

Hi, Started to get panicky and bought these scantronic items off Ebay and have a local alarm guy going to fit it for me. I didnt want a cable everywhere so opted for a wireless system. Scantronic 9751EN with 9941 Keypad (is it possible to set and unset this with a remote control like my car? ) Scantronic 768R 8 Channel Radio Reciever + 8600 Relay (Dont have a clue what the relay is for but it came with it!) Scantronic 714PIR (3 of them) (Will my small dog trigger these?) Scantronic 720R Smoke Detectors (2 of them) (Are these any good?) Scantronic 734R Door Contact Just would like some professionals opinion on whether this is a good setup and roughly how long shou…

Hi, im in the middle of trying to install the texecom premier 24 kit into my house, i got as far as buying the system, opening the box and cracking the seal on the installation manual. after reading the manual over 20+ times, im still no where near closer to knowing how to wire, where, what, how, when etc.... i have 8 sensors going into the system, 5 pir's and 3 door contacts, i wish for these to be indevidual zones, so a simple wire from the sensor to the zone board is what i need, however the manual dont say how to do that. plus i have 2 control panels, but i have worked out how to do them, just the wiring of the main board for the 8 sensors, the wiring for the actua…

hello all, I just want to make sure i'm doing the right thing with these texecom PIRs I have run 8core cable in the house using T-EOL , a "four wire" system 12v red 0v Black alarm (2 connections) green and white, one colour in each terminal tamper (2 Connections) yellow and blue, one colour in each terminal The PIR has the following connections TEST, SET, 0V (Black), 12V (Red), T-EOL, RLED, SPARE I'm assuming the green & white (2cores) goes into T-EOL, OV (Black) 12V (Red) where should i put the 2 connections for the tamper for this PIR? The same goes for wiring up the shock sensors (IMPAQ) which are straightforward (this i think i correct) Tamper …

Hi - I have just found your website/forum and am hoping you can help. We moved into our property a few years ago and there is currently a Newlec "Protect 2" alarm system in the house - which consists of: front door and patio door sensors and 3 x PIR's. The control panel looks like a basic box with a key to turn on/off and we have the bell box on the front of the house. I am keen to replace this ancient looking kit for a new alarm and have been considering an Avanti alarm system with remote keypad (which also uses a keyfob (red/grey) to turn the alarm system on/off. My question is, is it possible to just change the control panel, PIR's and still use the existing wiring? …

Hi all I'm in the finishing off stages of my selfbuild project, and am at the stage where I'd like to get the alarm system installed. I'd be really grateful for some advice to help me select a system. I will be doing a DIY self-install. (Competent at everything electrical but no experience of alarm systems...yet) Firstly I'll give some info on the house: It's a mixture of 1, 2 and 3 storeys (5 bedrooms; 3 on middle & 2 on top floor). There are 3 external doors (one "main" front door and two rear/side doors). Majority of house is out of sight from road and mostly out of sight from neighbours. One ground-floor room/window in particular is very hidden from view. …
