Looking for some help. System all of a sudden started tripping on entry. The entry exit route consists of a front door contact and hallway PIR. Galaxy G-20 Panel in use. The front door is programmed as Final and the hallway as Exit. What I am now finding is when entering through the door there is no tone indicating the panel requires unsetting and it alarms on both the door contacts and hall PIR zones. I initially thought the door contacts might have become faulty so made the front door innactive - but the hall PIR still trips. Any ideas anyone?

Hi, does someone know what is the purpose of the SET connector on Texecom AMDT Plus (and a few other ones) detector ? The installation instructions are somewhat terse: SET: 12v/No connection : detector is in the standby/unset mode 0v: detector is in the Alert/set mode According to my experiment, SET does the same thing as the RLED: it disables the leds when 0v is applied. Thank you in advances.

The intruder alarm stuff I ordered with the help of this community have finally arrived and I have started looking at the necessary wiring. The keypad wiring seems pretty easy and straight forward. I am however quite stuck with the EOL installation of a number of PIRs for a zone. Panel - Texecom 48 PIR - Honeywell DT7550UK2 I am attaching a diagram with my initial thoughts. I got the following questions: 1) Is the wiring correct between the panel and the first PIR? 2) Is the wiring correct between the different PIRs on the same zone? 3) Can I use Fault in the PIR as I cannot find anything in the texecom manual? 4) Is there a standard for wire colours? 5) Do I…

In Wintex I enabled Test mode for a number of Zones and via the Wintex remote control, turned on testing (soak test) and armed. But if any zone was triggered the bell etc would activate. I'd like to leave the system on soak test for a few days before 100% relying on it. Have I missed something? , Paul.

Hi all. First of, sincere thanks to all the contributers to this forum. Been reading through, picking up advice and posting a couple of questions. I now have a great Premier 48 working nicely. Shock sensors being reset by inverted output Detector Reset (earlier problem much discussed). Being an IT guy, I added the Com IP module to the box and havent look back since. What a great solution the Premier + Wintex is. You professionals must love it. Is there any way, instead of a dialer or SMS, I can get the Wintex or other software to send an email on alarm? Maybe with cause / triggered zone? A tip to anyone starting a project like this, the Texecom Impaq Plus shock se…

Two of my six Viper GLXs seem to go to sleep. Am I missing something with the DIP switches? Oh, anyone know an easy way to use the set function - my Premier 48 doesn't have a +ve output I can use to set and hide the annoying flashing LEDs on the Vipers above. Thx. Paul.

Dear all, I'm a new member and it's my first post so please go easy and thanks in advance for any help and advice. I bought a house with an DA systems Abacus 8R alarm already installed (no manual/instructions to be found anywhere). After playing around with the keypad I managed to programme and set the alarm (the internal siren beeps for 30 or so secs and the alarm then sets....all good). However, if activated (by a sensor for example), only the internal alarm sounds the external bell box/siren remains silent. I have absolutely no idea where to start in trying to resolve this problem. Could it be a fuse in the internal control box? Is it more likely to be with the ac…

I installed a Premier 48 at home which has been running reliably for two years. I have about 35+ sensors connected including 3 fire/heat and I'm thinking of adding a carbon monoxide detector but so far can't find any products on the web. Any recommendations? Is this something people do?

Hi, Recently had to do a complete engineers reset on my system Scantronic 9752( incl Kirk start pins and NVR etc ) after my installer was holding me to ransom after a fault. I had to go for 'new' install approach to get the installer codes and make the necessary security changes. This obviously meant having to re programme the entire system from scratch which was a little daunting for the beginner. Having followed to book and assigned the zones I though all was going well until I went to leave the installer mode using 99 tick. It began to check the system and returned 'ZONE TAMPER Z01' and rolled out to Z08. I have not touched the PIRs or any other part of the instal…

All I need some help and advice on the choice of PIRs. I am fitting PIRs in 3 rooms. Entrance Hall - No issues here. Standard room Lounge - Largish room 7m * 7m and the PIR will be sort of facing the windows on the other side of the room. Kitchen - Large room 7m * 10m and containing an Aga, so constant heat source. Looking for any guidance on PIRs. Anything I would watch out for? Been looking at Texecom Prestige and FX50SQ Ben

Hi all. Appreciate any advice on how to protect a room with double glazed windows and a pair of double-glazed patio doors. Can't really use PIRs as there's a dog and some very springy cats who roam freely. I reckon I need to protect against glass breakage as well as someone levering the doors open, or booting them till they open. I'm thinking a glass break detector in tempered glass mode and a shock+magnet sensor on the double doors. . Paul.
