Speaker Vs Int Siren

no probs,

you do need the right coil resistance/impedance to match the panel,. many spec16 ohms and may ok with less then burn out on a long exit/entryt rout time out, you could use 2 x 8ohm's in series, or if an 8 ohms spec using a 16 ohm will reduce the volume on panel 2 x 16 ohm speakers paralleled.

just site well away from the main bedroom if they have older teenagers who will likely come home in early hoursrolleyes.gif.

Arfur.

lol no teenagers...yet!

I had intended to get a single 16ohm speaker as this is what the is specfied for the panel in question. In fact the reason for all this was because I couldn't get a chime from the RKP sounder-if I could I wouldn't have tried the speaker as there is already an internal siren. We'll see if the speaker does the trick.

PM received thanks, no need for an explanation.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Got the 16Ohm speaker in and got the chime working through it...and the keypad. I had activated chime on the relevant zones but hadn't enabled chime in the first part of the menu
