Hi alll, I am a small business owner. My business is in a high visibility area where all entrances are highly visible and well lit. Still, I wanted to have a security system so I opted for a DIY wireless. The system is an offshore affair with clear instructions and the alarm went in smoothly, and tested well. It is an auto dialer with PIR and Door window switches. It also has a smoke detector that is wireless and an inside siren that plugs into the control panel. After feeling that the install went better than directed, I was surprised last night when I got a call from the auto dialer advising that the alarm had been activated. This is not good as yesterday I entered …

HI, I have been running a Texecom Premier 48 for about a year now with a PIR as the Entry/Exit 1 which has worked fine, when you arm the panel and walk out the secondary arm tones start when the PIR picks up movement. This weekend I have installed a read switch to the front door, set this to Entry/Exit 1. All works fine. however on re-entry when the front door opens the entry/exit process starts and about 2 seconds later the panel goes to full alarm, checking the log the PIR in the hall way is setting this off. I have changed the Zone1 from "Entry/Exit 1" to "Guard Access" and this still results in an alarm condition when re-entering. I am gathering that the PIR is…

Just installed a new Texecom Premier 48 system and it seems perfect in every way except a strange 'blip' sound from the external sounder, precisely every 30 seconds. I think this is due to a dip in the 12V supply but I've no idea why this would be. Is there some kind of regular 'poll' or check that could be dragging the supply down? I presume I've got some setting wrong somewhere but I can't find any 30 second timer except for the keypad courtesy light setting. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hello All, I've installed a Premier 24 with 7 EOL PIR's (Prestige QDs) and a door contact, all OK no problems. The PIRs are ceiling mounted, as the cable is run up under the stairs and then down through the ceilings into the rooms below. Position of the joists and the downstairs covings have prevented me mounting them right in the corner as I wanted, a couple of rooms are OK, a couple of them the PIR's are 10" away from the wall. I (now) know, the Prestige PIR's don't come with a bracket where you can angle the PIR down a bit. Instead you adjust the height by sliding the PIR up/down in the casing to change coverage. There's a bit of a blind spot in front of (i.e almo…

Hello All Need to buy all the bits for my alarm and I need them to arrive this week. Is it generally good experiences with www.securitywarehouse.co.uk ? Their prices are good and they have the bits I want. Just need to be sure the stuff will turn up in a couple of days, I'm on a bit of a schedule for fitting it. Ars.

Hi all. I have my texecom premier 24 installed and working fine for a couple of years now. I use wintex to program the options and have a text/voice dialer to send my alerts to me. It all works fine and the system texts me "alarm" as i programmed when one of the zones is triggered. What I would like to know is what I have to do to get the system to send me a "confirmed alarm" message when a second zone is set off. Is that part of the "grade 3" tick box I dont have checked? I realise that you may not be able to put the information on here for public consumption Many thanks Dan.

Hi, I have a SolarGuard SG4000 wireless system to which I need to add an additional siren. The problem is that the system is 418mHz and the new siren, SolarGuard SG-1100-T, is 434mHz but comes with its own transmitter which claims to be compatible with all standard wired or wireless panels. The board in the SG4000 has the facility to add a wired siren but the terminals are marked V+, Gnd, O/P & I/P whilst the terminals on the siren transmitter are marked Siren, V+, Gnd & Tamper. My question is which do I connect to O/P & I/P. I'm guessing Siren to O/P and Tamper to I/P but would appreciate confirmation or correction. I would really appreciate your help be…

Chaps Am I right in thinking that the Prestige Quad PIR does not have EOL resistors in it, but the AMQD Plus, does ? Thanks!

Chaps If I am forced to mount an AMQD above a door (about 18").. will it trip the anti masking even when the alarm is off, and cause a problem, or is it OK as long as the door is shut when the alarm is activated ? e.g, if the door is open, would it just not let you set the alarm ? . Also Can anyone confirm that both the ceiling and wall brackets are included in the box ? Got the floorboards up here drilling holes in anticipation of an alarm that has not yet arrived. Thanks

I've upgraded my home system from a Veritas to a Texecom 48 and using the wintex software it all seems to have come together really well. It might sound a little over the top but after a previous near break-in our multiple keypads and wider zone coverage means we can have configurable areas for bedtime, 'perimeter', being in the garden etc - all helps peace of mind. PROBLEM: The one small issue I have is that during one of my Part modes one of my proxy keypads doesn't seem to respond to tags when disarming - I have to type in the code. It works fine when I do a complete arm/disarm and on the other Part modes. It seems a strange problem as clearly all the elements of har…

Hello, I own a texecom r8+ control panel, and since a few month, I randomly have alarm on some area (in random area...) All the areas are monitored by pir. I decrease the sensibility of the PIRs, I toggle the areas in double knock, to reduce false alarms, but there are still false alarms. Do you think it could be the battery ? The control panel is located in the attic, so the temperature in summer can be high, so I suspect that the battery can have suffered, or maybe some components on the pcb... (sorry for the poor english writting)

Hello All, Finally going to fit an alarm, instead of relying on the debris of the old wireless alarm left here by the previous owner (doesn't work, but used it as a dummy box). I fitted a Texecom alarm for a friend a couple of years ago and had no problems. Still working very nicely! For my own, I was going to fit the same, but now there's a lot of Honeywell stuff about which I didn't notice a couple of years ago. Am I better off fitting a Honeywell ? They're a big name and that alone tempts me. I would expect it to be half way decent. Price is very similar to Texecom. This is for a medium sized semi. I was thinking along the lines of 1 blank end station, 2 remo…
