I'm sure this has been asked many times before ! But looking around the PA8 alarm from Response seems good value. I have fitted a cheap Wickes alam in my garage and had no problems over the last 10 years. If the PA8 is not recommended, can anyone recommend a package that will include a seperate keypad, 4 PIR's 2 door sensors, and I'm interested in an auto dialler. I have a budget of around £200 although I could drop the auto dialler and fit it later. (I don't want a wirefree system) System is for a 4 bed detached house with both front and rear doors being used for entrance. One door comes into the kitchen and the other into a hall. Hi, hopefully someone can help with some wiring advice. We've just moved into a new house and I've replaced the old Optima XM panel with a Powermax+. All fine so far. I'm now coming to wire in the existing bell. The Optima had 6 contacts for the bell: Strobe +, Strobe -, Bell +, Bell - and 2 just labelled "SCB". The Powermax+ has the following: -HOLD, EXT, INT, +12V and also Zone 30, which I believe comes into it somewhere (it's a hardwired zone)! The manual's fine as far as EXT is the -ve for the bell and INT is the -ve for the strobe (assume I can feed the +12v to both strobe and bell even though they were separate contacts on the Optima?). I'm struggling a little …
