it wont let me enter anything getting the beeping sound as if am doing something wrong (if that makes sense!)

wait for pips - user code - tick - tick until all faults displayed then engineer number even THEN it`ll likely not start accepting proggrameing - count till 5 then try ...........

It's the spring on the bottom right corner of the keypad (depending on the model, the old 9930 keypad is different) that protrudes through the backplate.

I doubt it's that, as it would'nt cause the keypad to fail to respond, but it's worth a try. Also, check the address jumpers on the back of the keypad, make sure that it's set to 1 (I think that's none of the links fitted)

You need to tighten up the two pa terminals that are linked out on the keypad pcb, then re-boot system.
