I have x-10 devices running in my home and these are controlled by Homeseer with a constant on PC, What control panel would you suggest that can operate on it's own (in event of power failure) but can also be controlled through the PC. Example would be that if an input is triggered when not in alarm mode it sends a signal to the PC and this then send comand signals. The reason that I want to run it through the PC is that I will be able to integrate more options than on a stand alone alarm system and I the PC will be integrated with Opus 500. Minimum requirements: 9 Zones Auto dialler Possible listen in facility? (not compulsary) Ability to set and unset via PC or th…

Gents, Thanks for you help with the Sounder question yesterday. So I have completed the wiring, powered up the system (on battery), connected by PC by USBCOMM and uploaded the config from Wintex. I have 11 Texecom AMQD PIR's connected to the system and have set them up as T-EOL. Wired Blue/Yellow pair for T-EOL circuit and Black/Red for the 12v / 0v between the Panel and the PIR's. I have left the Tamper on the Panel 'bridged' as supplied as default. I am getting 'Tamper' faults on 5 of the 11 PIR's. They all pick up movement when you do a 'Walk Test'. Wintex Diagnostics are showing Resistance of circa 2.17 for the PIR's that are working and >1000 for those sh…

please help!!!!!!!!! i have just installed and accenta G4 panel with rkp and informa. i have 3 zones wired in, 1 zone has 2 bosch blue line pir's , the other 2 zones just have 1 pir on each zone. my problem is when i power up the system, it goes into tamper lockout. when i go to the walk through menu, it says that zone 3 has been identified, which has 1 pir but cannot find zones 1 or 2. i have checked all of the connections in the pir's, there is not loose connections and all pir's are wired the same. i have also checked for damaged cables. some times it will pick up zone 1 which has the 2 pir's on, but then it will lose it again. i am thinking that the pir's …

Hi, have just self built a new detached house and detached garage. Looking to install an alarm with my electrician. All wiring already done. 14 zones and 2 areas (house and garage). Will probably use proxy tag LCD keypads. Would like to be able to control / programme system from my computer, although this is not critical. Think we have narrowed our choice down to Scantronic 9853EN-43 control panel or Texecom Premier 48 control panel. Realise will also have to by an 8 zone expander & digicom module if we go the Texecom route, but that is not a problem. Would appreciate feedback on which you would consider the best panel to use considering we are doing it ourselves, or …

Afternoon Gents, I'd appreciate some guidance here. I have pretty much completed the wiring up of my system and just have the Sounders / Bell Boxes to connect now before powering the system up and programming it. However I am struggling with the wiring and would appreciate some help. Each sounder is wired directly from the location of the control panel (no scope to change this) using 6 core Alarm Cable. Could someone please on how I should wire at the panel and at each of the sounders? I also believe that I can set the Sounders to run on battery rather than from Panel Power in order to enable multiple Sounders, based on my overall config is this something I should…

Hi, I have just moved into a new house which has an intellisense securit 802 alarm system. The system works but the siren and strobe don't. Does anyone have the installation manual showing a wiring diagram or can anyone post the terminal connections in the control panel so I can work out the wiring connections to the siren box? Any help on this would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I installed an ESP Infinite Wireless Alarm about a year ago and up until recently it's behaved perfectly. Now every couple of days it false alarms even when not armed. It's not choosy about the time of day this happens, in fact it happened just 5 minutes ago! The control panel is not reporting low batteries in any of the PIR's or the external siren, which is why the bahaviour is baffling me. Any ideas or areas to check?

Firstly many thanks for all previous help received on recent questions. I have now got most of my kit list sorted. We live in a rural area and are prone to power cuts (usually only short ones for 5 mins or so) when the weather is bad during the winter. Will be installing a Texecom Premier 48 control panel with PSU200XP expander & 2 Yuasa 12v 7A batteries. Are there any additional electrical components (supressors? etc) that my electrician would be advised to instal to prevent damage / issues regarding the fact that we will be guaranteed to experience short intermittent power cuts during the winter months? Many thanks

On our upstairs landing I intend to put a Texecom RF360 ceiling mounted PIR to cover the area at the top of the stairs. As our living room, kitchen etc are upstairs & bedrooms downstairs (to make the most of our views) I also would like to put an internal extension speaker up on the landing so we can hear when any of the 3 external doors downstairs are opened, as I will set their sensors to chime. I only have one cable left to this area upstairs. Is there any way of using this 6-core cable or splitting it to have both a speaker & PIR or will I have to decide on one or the other ? I intend for all PIR's in the house to be wired EOL. I will be using a Texecom Premi…

I have received one bit of feedback on whether to use Texecom MR Mirrored Optic or Texecom QD Quad detectors, but with only one viewpoint I am still unsure as to which would be best to use. Can any of you experts plese give me a bit more info on these different detectors - their advantages / disadvantages over each other to help me make my mind up. Your continuing help is greatly appreciated.
