  2. Started by squowse,

Evening.. I recently upgraded my house alarm to a Texecom Premier Elite 24 polycarb model. So far so good, I am getting the hang of the programming and have got through the basics and have a working alarm. I then moved onto the GSM-COM unit. The signal strength is showing as -999dB or -113dB depending on whether you believe the keypad or wintex. The unit itself is flashing LED3 which means marginal signal I think? Anyway I am getting errors COM2 - No signal and ATS Fault on the keypad and they will not reset. The funny thing is after changing a few settings it suddenly started working and I can send commands to the panel and receive notifications. But I still have…

  4. I am a landlord and a Visonic Powermax Wireless Alarm system is installed in my rental property. I have just replaced all the sensor batteries but still the panel is bleeping, saying "alarm in memory" and trouble. How do I get this alarm out of memory, reset it and stop the bleeping which is driving the tenants mad. Would be really grateful for some easy to follow advice to sort the problem. As far as I can see the sensors are all working and covers back in place

  5. Has anyone got a C&K 700L panel that I can buy? It has gone dead - due to not replacing the battery. We have been living in the house for 12 years, and the alarm system has been very reliable. In fact, if I can find circuit diagram for the 700L, I could probably repair it myself - provided the processor is not shot. Or, can anyone specify an alternative that will fit in with the existing wiring. I have two keypads fitted, but one of them we hardly use. Reading the forums, it looks like the Veritas R8 is a good replacement, but my question is, would it be easy enough to wire like for like with the 700L?

  6. Hello everyone, I live in South Africa and I can't seem to find a local alarm DIY website so I'm going to try here, I hope that's alright. I have a Texecom Premier 832 that I would like to add a door magnetic contact to. I have electrician experience, but none with alarm systems. I woulds call my alarm company to do it, but they charge an astronomical call out charge, so I'm going to attempt to do it before calling them. I will attach pictures to show the location of the door and its proximity to current installed equipment. I need to know what I need to get, where to wire it in, and how to add it as a new zone to the system. Currently, the system is split…

  7. After removing an old PIR from an Accenta G4, I carelessly left the 13v and 0v wires touching each other for a day or so. I only noticed when I later did a walk test, and all the zones with powered sensors (PIRs, Vipers) were showing as open. I've now separated them, but I still don't seem to be getting the 13v supply to the powered sensors. From the manual, it looks like there are fuses protecting the battery, speaker, siren/strobe and RKP supplies. There's no mention of the sensor suppky being fused, and the 4 fuses on the board look intact. I've ordered some replacement fuses, more out of hope than really believing that will fix it. Does anyone know what might be …

  9. i recently moved into a property that had an ADE Captiv-8 alarm system fitted however as the property was empty i did not have teh alarm codes. I reset the codes as per the engineering manual instructions: - The engineer code and manager code have now been reset to default, i can scroll through the enginners facilities ok however i cannot access the managemnt menus as it now says it has a box tamper fault. I have removed the link above and refitted the link to the tamp circuit. Anybody know how to clear this fault it was not present before i did the reset as there were no faults displayed on the rkp.

  10. Hi All, New to this forum and only found you whilst searching for info on wiring up some external sounders so thought I'd add a post and ask for some help. I currently have a new Siemens/Europlex SPC panel which I currently have benched whilst I get everything working prior to the final install to replace an old Visonic wireless panel with wireless external sounder. Basically I'd like to wire up two external sounders one at the front of the house and one at the back and have them both active but I can't figure out the correct way to wire this up and test prior to climbing the ladder and installing (easier to sort the wiring out whilst it's still in this benche…

  13. I am really stuck with this and would appreciate any advice. I am new to the PTZ set ups and I have got 6 American Dynamics speed domes, I am just setting 1 up at the moment. I cannot get past the on screen message ' checking network type' The speed dome is powered by 24v AC, it has 2 data wires coming from it (S+ & S-) the data wires then connect to a 'sensornet to RS422 converter. the available connections on this are TXhi, TXlo and RXhi RXlo, I am not sure which ones to connect the camera to. The output of the converter then goes to an AD touch tracker 16. When powered on everything comes on, the dome does its start up test routine but stops with the above mess…

  14. (Topic should say phone "line detection" not "alarm") Hi folks, We have an alarm system with a TS690 panel. We don't typically arm the system, but we want to. After a system reset yesterday, it's developed a phone line fault (the phone connection was actually lost a while ago) and now it's beeping every minute or so. ( This very old message suggests it's possible to *disable* the phone line detection. http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/16661-re-program-ts690-for-batt-flt/ “Whilst you can't reprogram the 690 to ignore batt faults (or any other kind of fault except phone line)” Anyone know how to do this please? Can I (end user…
