  1. I've still to decide which bellbox to put on my Prem48 panel. I'll be getting it from https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/ anless there are cheaper suppliers available? What should I be looking for and can anyone recommend any? Also can anyone recommend anywhere in Sheffield, South Yorkshire where I can pickup a prem48 panel rather than ordering it? Thanks.

My alarm has developed a fault. When in day mode, usually during warm weather (I can't believe that this could be connected), the internal sounder and external strobe activate as though they have been activated. They silence when the PIN is entered but the alarm is left in Tamper mode. This clears with the reset button. Does anyone have experience of this problem, please?

  4. Hi there, I have just bought a 1988 house that requires renovation, it has a hardwired and powered down/redundant 1988 alarm system. i have a new Odyssey 3 external sounder and what I want to do as a temporary measure, while I work in the house, is to remove the old sounder, wire in the new Odyssey 3 to the front of the house, and to go to the old alarm panel, disconnect the ext sounder cable and connect the relevant wires to a suitable 12v supply to get the two alternating LEDs flashing on the ext sounder to give the illusion of a live system, until I am ready to replace the whole system. I fitted several alarms a long time ago but I just need reminding of what I…

My Novagard 6 bellbox strobe has never worked. I think this is down to the fact the installer used the existing four core bell wire from a previous alarm and didn't wire in the strobe. However, I've heard you can still use the strobe with four core if you wire it together with the bell trigger. In the real world am I likely to get any problems (fuses blowing etc) by doing this?

I am working on installing a Axis A1001 and HID class RK40/RPK40 readers. Does anyone have any experience with either of these products? I went to use the diagram from Axis that was created and still I can't get the unit to unlock or the REX to work.

I am an engineer by trade and work on low voltage/hydraulic systems so as DIYer's go I am quite good with wiring so after a spate of housing being broken into around my area I have decided to fit a burglar alarm. I used to have a pants wireless system but got bored changing batteries so ripped it out. I have just received a Texecom Veritas Excel system complete with door contacts, bell box, PIR's and an internal dual sounder/speaker. I have read the installation manual, understood most of it with ease BUT then came to the page about EOL, resistor etc Now I have never come across this before so for this I am going to need help. I can fit everything where I wan…

Hi, I have a Galaxy Dimension with 5 groups and external bells etc. I have a 1 minute bell delay (mainly to prevent annoying neighbours when wife/kids ignore the alarm and wander into the kitchen before turning it off etc. However I want an internal sounder to activate immediately. I can manage this by setting an output as INTRUDER but my problem comes when the system needs disarming following such an activation. The internal sounder will only stop once the system is reset and not just when it is disarmed. Certain users (mother in law, parents, kids) don't have the required user level to be able to reset and so can't stop the internal sounder. Is there …

Hi I have a Scantronic 9100 that has been serviced by a local firm since I moved into my house 14 years ago. The alarm was working fine untill it was last "serviced", but the engineer said that the panel was now broken & needed replacing. I was suspicious of this as the panel was working fine before he arrived. Anyway, I was involved with Scantronic on the design on this panel, so I took a look at it. The unit is stuck in programming mode. I can perform all the programming functions, including walk through & bell tests. However, when I try to exit programming mode with "99 Enter", i get a low beep & "-" is displayed. Hence the unit appears to be stuck…

Hi all, We have a Risco Lightsys alarm fitted and control it through an Android App via Risco Cloud. We wanted to swap out our router for a new Belkin one with more features for our business but Risco Cloud isn't liking it and I get a 'panel not connected' fault. I have changed the IP setting on the Lightsys panel so it can see the new router but it still doesn't want to connect to the cloud. Would anything need to be changed on the router or is there something I'm missing in the Lightsys menus? Any guidance anyone can give on this would be much appreciated. I thought it would be a fairly simple swap but maybe not

Hi, apologies if this may of been duplicated before but I cannot find the answer I require. I have a client with a Visconic Powermaster installation and they require a flood detector..... Easy I thought as they are listed as an option, but buying one is a problem as they are not available in the uk for the powermaster. Having spoken to Visonic there are no planned dates they can give as to when it will be released. In the meantime I am thinking I can use the aux input on the door contact module and hard wire a flood sensor to that... Does anyone know of a suitable sensor with a N/O output contacts that would be suitable. (There is NO provision for power in the basement …
