  1. Hi there i have been trying at this for hours now and for some reason can not get it to work. I have followed all of the instructions perfectly but am still unable to establish a connection between Wintex and the system. Some information is being communicated between the two because the Wintex manages to retrieve the device serial number. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. So, I am nearly ready to turn my fully cabled up premier elite 48 system on for the first time. It looks like the commissioning procedure in the texecom manual says to turn on and load system defaults only from the battery and then perform all tests only from the battery and as a very final step (if all works ok) then apply the power. Does anyone know why this is and why I cant turn the power on before conducting all the tests? This is a new battery (17ah) and I don't know what the charged state of it might be.. So just checking in case it doesn't have enough juice for all the tests/fix/tests in likely to have as never done this before! Thanks!

Hi guys, So I have a few Texecom Primier Elite Impaq Contact and door contacts and I want to screw them on my door frames with the magnets on the doors. The problem is that with the UPVC doors, they do not sit flush with the frame either if they open outwards or if they open inwards as I'm sure you are all familiar with. I'm hoping that someone knows a universally simple solution to this! One of the doors has the frame behind the door (it opens inwards) and this is fairly simple as there is not much of a taper, so the sensor doesn't end up to be too far away on the X dimension. but for the others (and of course they are all different) the frames have either a …

  4. Hello, I've recently completed the installation of a Honeywell Galaxy G2-20 and am just trying to run through as many 'what if' scenarios as I can to make sure I've configured everything correctly. One thing I'm not sure of is what happens when the alarm has been triggered and the bells have timed out? Does the alarm simply re-arm itself and continue as normal or is there a limit on the number of times the bells can sound before a user reset is required? I've read the manual extensively and can't find any configuration parameters concerning this, have I missed anything? Ordinarily I'd just give it a try and test it out for myself but I think that the neighbo…

I'm sure most people would just try this stuff instead of asking but I don't want to end up in the name and shame section later so just double checking 1. I am planning to run a Texecom Exodus Fire alarm and an AMQD PIR off of Keypad 1 zones and they both need 12v power. Is there any reason why I can't/shouldn't simply use the +12v/0v off of the network terminals inside the keypad? .. I'm sure not, but just checking.. 2. On the AMQD anti mask detectors, alongside the normal +12v/0V/T-EOL pair and test terminals there is a connector SET that I don't really understand. In the book it says SET: 12V/No connection: Detector is in the Standby/unset mode 0V: Detec…

  6. Hi all, hoping someone can clarify something here for me I have an Elite 48 and am just pre wiring the 2 bells before climbing up to mount these things. The manual (INS154-6) is slightly confusing me as it talks about grade 3 wiring but I think the example it gives for multiple bells I think is only for grade 2 wiring. it is connecting the microswitches in series. but alongside all of this it says "for grade 3 installations using multiple units the "Fault relays should be wired in series". It isn't clear if this supercedes the diagram but I think it might... So contrary to the diagram in the manual I am wondering if I need to leave the microswitch terminals al…

  7. Hi forum folk, This is my first question here, I'm thinking about extending my Texecom Premier Elite 24, which was professionally fitted when I bought my house. I'd like to extend it to another room, and change one of the sensors. Would any of you kind soles give me some guidance on how to actually take the cover off? I appreciate that's a basic question, but it doesn't seem covered in the instruction manual, unless I've missed it, and I'm pretty sure there is an anti-tamper thing. The Elite 24 has a battery inside, so the obvious 'unplug it' is not going to work. Some of you might be thinking, oh no, another DIYer! However, I'm a software engineer w…

  8. Hi The best part of a year ago I installed a system at home (with a bit of assistance from this forum) based around a Scantronic 9651PD Panel; I also installed a number of Honeywell Is-215TQ Quad PIRs using FSL wiring. Zones have only one PIR connected. For the most part, the system has worked as I would have expected. No modifications have been made and no works have been undertaken that might have interfered with the system since it was installed. At night, the system is part-set so that all the entrance doors and the ground floor are covered but the PIR on the first floor landing is not included. Last night, about 30 minutes after the system had been pa…

  9. Hi new to forum, I have searched but can't find answer on forum - sorry if I have missed it.. I have scantronic 9600, and need to replace the cable but ...how do you remove the front panel of the keypad? to gain access to the back ? No screws visible and reluctant to lever off of case it breaks. Checked the install manual but it doesn't mention... I guess if your installing it it is obvious. Any help gratefully received.

  10. Started by zerozero,

Hi guys, I'm just detailed planning all the connections etc I need to make on a new Premier 48 installation. I think I'm a bit confused about the difference between the bell outputs and the speaker outputs on the Premier panel. Noises I want the system to make - Internal bell (for say 1 minute on alarm activating) - external bell (after 1 minute on alarm activating) - Chimes (24h when door contacts are triggered) - Squawks (when setting/unsetting the panel) So there is a bell output on the panel which I assume is for the external bell. (I actually want 2 external bells, can I connect 2 in parallel or do I have to wire 1 to the panel and one to a zone?) …

I've just moved into a new house with a santronic 9651 alarm. I've got a user code but not an engineers code (default doesn't work). We've got a tamper alarm and I need to reset. Any help appreciated.

Hello me and my friend have similiar alarms , i have a G2-12 but he has a GD48 his is better i am told, anyhow the other day i was leaving during exit but i only found out i forgot to close a door on a wirless contact until i left through my front door as the tone stayed continous saying full set etc and beeped differently when trying to set, after going back in closing the door everything is normal But my friend his tone changes when setting if a sensor or zone is open thus notifying him of this as soon as you try and set, how can i set mine to do the same or is it not possible on mine, in his installation manual it talks about exit restart i think, but we could n…

Hi If someone could help I would be really grateful. I have installed the PowerMaxComplete wireless alarm and am having problems. When I arm the system the panel stays on arming away please exit now with beeping. I can walk around the house and the pirs do not set the alarm off however if I open the front door the alarm goes off. I have tried the door zone as a zone 4 delay 1 and also as a zone 3 perimeter follower. What am I doing wrong? Please help. Thanks Melissa

  14. Hi all, it's ok my maths isn't that bad and I mean 16 additional wired (on top of the 8 on board) - but the thing is I can get a good deal on a 48 with 32 wireless expansion bundle but I need more than 8 (+2 keypad) wired zones. I don't need all 32 wireless. So, my question is can I get 2 x 8XP and use the zones on there as long as I don't use all the 32 wireless zones? i.e. are they used on a first assigned, first come basis or are all 32 reserved straight away? I initially only need 6 wireless zones but I will need many more (probably like 24 or so) over time as I alarm all the windows with wireless. Going with an 88 with all the expansion cards etc and with no …

  15. Hi, I've just started getting a false alarm on my Texecom Shock/Contact sensor which is on my Entry Door. It's only happened twice in two weeks, obviously once is too many times. The system has been perfect since install 6 months ago. Oddly, both false alarms have been at 7.15am and 5.30am, so it got me wondering whether the panel is suffering from mains interference. Now I've checked for induced AC and it is too high at 1.7vac - 1.9vac, so that is my first port of call. I've also checked the loop resistance and it's 10.06k (EOL) so that's fine. Before I get a filter installed, which I need anyway by the looks, I wanted to check voltages on here because they seem a …
