There is no money or longevity in doing one off programming tasks. We only support alarms that we control start to finish and where a recur monitoring subscription is in place. It also raises issue in for example if it's been wired other than how the manufacturer recommends which then when it goes wrong leads to possibilities of calls and arguments. For a one off call out of a value that wouldn't excite anyone it is just easier to decline.

It's  not moitered so any false alram would be an issue, it's a ricochet system so its only the panel and kepad that are wired, all are working fine. I just need someone to programme the zones, devices etc which is not my forte.

 

As I said easy work & low risk form someone in this field of expertise.

No Jon, they are a members of this site and it was just a joke amongst trade members. Like most of us on here, they won't be interested in commissioning a DIY job.

Op it can cause a support issue. Most wont do this. If you have a problem who is at fault, ie are you gonna pay the callout charges etc. You may get more luck asking for it to be taken over and then on a support contract

exactly why we wont, too much of a ball ache if something goes faulty.

I would do it lol but it would cost you! But I am 150miles away so no good to you, look for someone local, many small firms will do it, but as above when you get a fault and you cabled it and wired it then you will still have to pay call etc,

Price you pay will proabably be what they would have installed for you, your paying for expertise , I would to test all your cables and check everything you put in....
