  1. sorry that one is D1 so its Standard Def...good enough I think when car is parked just feet away from the camera lets clear at least something up: 1) the whole "identify thieves" thing...i thought it would be obvious to a 'security expert' when a noob says something like not bothered about "identifying thieves...but that sounds good and would like to know more about it" - I would of picked that up as meaning he thinks it detects thieves faces and checks against a known thieve database online and set bells off... of course i meant want to see who's doing what...WHY would I come on here and say i want a camera that doesnt show you who it is thats doing it? - common sense should have prevailed that one to someone of that calibre.. I will read that post now: after reading the nasty responses to the guy in question on that thread I can clearly see that this is just a CCTV installers haunt for chat & getting jobs off people coming here just wanting help...seen it happen at DIYnot (a tiler, and do a **** job that had to tore down!!) you offer more critiscism than help, there will be one or two good people here but most of the "long-termers" (like "Mr Logic"...bet he looks like the fukcer too) will be here just as p1ss-takers if it were so difficult to install a camera on a wall why would maplins sell them...christ ive worked in the building trade for 30 years and IT for 10 - think i can install a camera on a wall and wire it through too the receiver... your problem is your in a job thats easy to do so your annoyed at people looking for some advice on components for self install = YOU LESS MONEY,.,, TA TA - WONT BE BACK
  2. i thought about it and agreed when i saw 65 degree angle on the lens - so if we get a 4 way pack and have one each? £1000 is way out of budget TBH I was hoping no more than £400 in total (£200 each)
  3. thanks guys ...to those that arent condescending i Havent given a budget?? , its others (such as datadiffusion) who is saying £199... not me... Im asking what can we get that will do the job...?? http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/sentient-500gb-8-channel-cctv-kit-with-4-bullet-cameras-n91nb 4 cams & receiver for less than £200 there...1080p so hi-res, 100fps, connects too router (TCP/IP) so assuming as well as my tablet or phone I can use PC and the supplied software to read from the internal PVR (CCTV PVR - ROUTER - PC) if the cams are **** then say so... I would like someone to just recommend something that can do all of that - im not bothered about 1Tb etc as your paying extra £100 for extra storage you dont really need - a decent security cam should be able to be set to record 7/14 days only and erase the rest...i think i know within 14 days if theres been an incident something with quite wide angle lens thats good at night as will be going between our house & neighbours house as were gunna share the bill probably have to be a 4 way set thanks again
  4. erm.. my original post says 2 but possibly 3 cameras? - one for front , one for back and one for side but not 100% sure on the side one surely you can get cameras that record to 1 box that can record to an SDcard//USB or internal HDD that can be accessed over your home network on your PC to look at recordings @datadiffusion: bit harsh for a noob to the site..?. im just saying i can possibly self install the thing, christ if I can build PC's, setup sky, install my own kitchen I can hang a blood camera off the wall... as for seeing who's doing it...dont get that one? either you mean the picture quality is so **** you cant make out anything OR it can identify known robbers lol...which is it? lol If your not going to be helpful then please dont post...
  5. I really know nothing - dont have a budget but Iam into IT and can wire things in etc.. built many PC's and installed Sat Dish if that helps I dont wanna leave PC on 24/7 so needs to be a dedicated receiver - one i can link to PC to check etc im not bothered about systems that can 'identify' criminals but that sounds clever stuff... still would like to know more about them I guess we'll have to see the bank of grandad... I work 15-22 hours NMW and she is left with £200 month and we have no savings other than our upcoming holiday for Turkey on 2nd Sept. would like it up by then i think thanks for all the help
  6. our lass doesnt want wires everywhere but I suppose wired is fine
  7. Hello, weve had stuff stolen from our garden so paid £1200 for fencing, now our car has been broken into,...from the start of having this house i have said that we needed cameras for peace-of-mind but she moaned.... now she quite happy and the neighbour is willing to go halves on a wide angle set of 2 we can put between our buildings and we'd like a 3rd for the end as we are the end house and have some nice plants (that got stolen last time) I need something wireless that will record to a small box using something I can access via the computer but must have its own little box to receive & record too (SDcard/USB?) can anyone help us please? thanks
