Hi All I'm pulling my hair out (whats left of it!) with an Abacus model 6/8P/8ABI/15/72 (by DA Systems?) with LED panel I inhereted which seems to have gone down. System was/is serviced annually. The local maintenance people have been round and having found fault in the transformer advised spares unlikely and should consider a Veritas R8 as a replacement etc. to remove possibility of other components going u/s. Questions: 1. Are Abacus still around and spares? Trawling the web has found nothing. 2. Veritas systems in Forum seem problematic re codes, following power failures etc? 3. Existing system has 3 vibration sensors, 3 PIRs, 1 front door contact and remote led …

I've been installing an Accenta G3 mini and got it all working (quite pleased with myself However, the manual recommends a dedicated spur to the main fuse board... 1) I don't have and spare breakers on my main fuse board, and 2) It would be extreemly difficult to get a spur back to the board. Is it 'ok' to take a spur off a socket loop?

Hi, Im in the south east (luton, bedfordshire), and currently have an optima plus 2 i need to upgrade, because I'm automating the garage doors, which will be a pointless exercise unless i upgrade the alarm, cause ill still have to go into the house to unset the alarm before i can open my garage doors! you see the garage doors automatically trigger the alarm unless i use front door first to go into house and unset the alarm. I could just call out an engineer to make the garage doors act like the front door and give me time to get into the house and unset rather than immediately triggering the alarm, but I figure if i have to go to the expense of calling out an engineer, …

Hi Hope someone can help me, i've recently just moved one of the PIR's and sounder for my alarm system as they were originally installed in the wrong place. Everything seemed fine until i cut the power to the whole house to carry out some more electrical work. As soon as i cut power the bell outside rings constantly until the power is restored. The keypad isn't it at all while the power is off. I know this is a stupid question but am i right in thinking that the battery is causing the problem? Really hope someone can help Thanks

the ademco accord system fitted in my house from new will not set as it keeps sensing faults on zones 5, 6, 7 and 8, illuminating the led's and stopping the system setting. i can isolate these manually but this needs to be done each time and also the night set option wont work when I do this. The problem I have is there are only 4 live zones on the alarm, zones 5 6 7 8 have never been connected / made live. is there a way to set the alarm to 'ignore' these unused zones automatically instead of having to manually isolate the zones every time the alram is set? thanks

Set the alarm as normal before leaving for work. During the day there was a general power cut in our area, power came back shortly afterwards. On return home the system was off, power lights show on the control panel and box. No response from any buttons. (I have changed the battery a couple of years ago so don't think thats a problem). Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks
