Hello there, I wondered if I could enlist the help of some experienced CCTV engineers? I'm currently working on an 8 camera site with 4 new Dennard 2060 domes, the telemetry is controlled via Coax. Each dome also has 2 alarm inputs connected to a variety of external PIR's (Redwall, GJD etc). There are 3 control units fitted to the system. A DVR, a standard Denard switching unit for the alarm inputs and an Adpro Fastscan III transmitter for monitoring. 1. I have the Adpro and Switcher conneted via an RS232 link. Will this enable me to use the alarm inputs from the switching unit? If so, how? 2. I only have the Adpro programmer, not the AMK-300 keyboard. If I set the te…

Hi there, I have had a trawl through the forums , and would like some advice please. We have moved into a new house and recently the alarm (optima2 plus , Keypad, so dont know if this is the associated alarm). lets us put the code in to arm it, but just keeps beeping when we have left the house and does'nt seem to ever stop. I have read through some of the old posts and some discuss that this could be a faulty door sensor. But we have not had it serviced seince we have moved in, And from what it sounds its a pretty old alarm system. We dont have any documentation from the prior owners on Zone setup. Would any engineer be able to find that information out ?…

Hi all, Just wanted to post to say thanks to everyone who volunteered time and information to help me find out about domestic intruder alarms resulting in me getting a quality system at a very fair price installed by someone who could be trusted 100% to do a proper job. Although I am in Milton Keynes ADI from Leicester (thats his ID on this site, do a search) quoted for the work and has done a great job. Friendly and helpful, he has been the consumate professional and a great advertisment for those installers that frequent this site. I would not hesitate to recomend his services to anyone. Anyway thanks again to you all (especially to ADI). Andy

Suddenly noticed the front door panel running through the 4 numbers that make up all the zones, on a repeat cycle. Pressed the reset key but nothing happened. Put in our security code and the alarm went off. Only way to stop it was to switch the power off. But on switching the system control box back on the alarm went immediatly off again. So switched off. It looks like a new system will have to be installed but is there anything I can do in the meantime with the alarm to keep it working until its replaced?

My cleaning lady accidentally triggered the panic button when dusting. I entered my code and successfully reset the alarm to the inactive state, but about 2 hours later the alarm triggered spontaneously. Is there a time delay after a panic button activation, and if so how do I reset it? My user guide does not mention a panic button. The panic button does not have a reset key and is a simple press button switch that goes to open circuit on press. I checked it with an ohmeter and it seems to be OK.

Hi, I have triggered the tamper light by removing the cover to the alarm box (I know I know!) so would be grateful if someone could either tell me how to fix or probably better still let me know if there is a decent alarm servicer in the Haslemere,Surrey area who could come and service/reset the alarm. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I installed an Optima G3 Compact panel at the weekend with fornt and back door sensors and 2 PIR's. All works except I cannot seem to confgure an entry delay on the front door sensor, which is connected to Zone 1 on the panel. The effect of this means that opening the front door triggers and alarm condition. What do I need to do? Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you, Richard/ Stockport

I have inherited an //.National Installer.// Accord Xpc from the previous owner. I have no installation or user manuals, but I do have the reset code. I switched the lighting circuit off, to rewire some lights (the same circuit that the alarm is wired into) and when I switched it back on there is an icon of a battery with a flashing cross on the bottom right of my alarm panel. Can anyway tell me why its there, and what do I have to do to fix it. If anybody could also get me a copy of the user and installation manuals that would also be excellent. Thanks Andy

Hi, please can anyone help? I have a pre-2000 Veritas R8 alarm and my two downstairs sensors have suddenly stopped triggering the alarm (when set both as 'full' or 'part', also during walk tests). If I do a walk test, they don't trigger the lights or the chime on the control panel (my upstairs sensor and my front door sensor still work OK). The problem sensors still appear to be picking up movement because the red movement light on the sensors themselves still come on when I walk in front of them. The control panel just doesn't appear to be picking up the fact that the sensors are detecting something. I haven't done anything (that I'm aware of!) that would affect things…

Hello, I have moved into a house with a Scantronic 9800 Intruder Alarm which was installed in 1992. Overnight and this morning it has been going off internally and the display on the control panel is indicating a battery fault. I have phoned around a load of companies in the yellow pages and none of them are interested because we have no maintenance agreement with them and it is Christmas etc. etc. Is there any way that I can stop it from doing it, i.e. removing the battery/pulling the mains out? I have a 12 month old baby who can't sleep because of it and my husband isn't too happy either! I have a pdf of a wiring diagram for what I believe to be the main control b…

OPTIMA 2 PLUS PIR IS NOT TRIGGERING ALARM All door contacts chime. All pirs chime in chime mode, hence working? The problem started when my 11 month old son pressed some buttons on the keypad. The alarm will set as if everything is ok. Entry and exit zone 1 seem to work fine, but the alarm does not trigger when pir zones 2/3/4 are triggered, when the alarm is on. Has he disabled them some how? If so how can I enable them again? Any help would be most appreciated many thanks Richard

Hiya Can anyone help me to default a galaxy 16+ back to factory default? I've tried to get the old engineer code from the company that maintained it and was told to get stuffed so to speak! There is no memory link either to reset on the pcb..... I've managed to reset the system by dropping the battery and mains and power up again. At least the alarm can be used. I need to reprogramme it for the customer asap. Kind Regards Nells Detector Alarms
