Can anyone help me with a problem interfacing Gardtec 816 with Gardtec Remote. I have the installed/registered software and the patch lead to the panel. The comms appears to be OK, but I get an error message that the Panel Verison(v7.1) does not match the version on Gardtec remote(v5.7). The Gardtec remote software manual indicates that updates data is available from www.gadiner-technology.com, this re-routes to gardtec.co.uk, but I can't find the data files on the site. Its not on the CD's supplied. There seem to be minor differences between the manuals and the software options on the PC and Panel, is this because I've a mis match between the panel and PC? Does anyone…

Hi I have a Veritas 8c alarm which was installed 18 months ago. The other morning i turned the alarm off when I got up and when i went to set it again I got a single long beep and I couldn't set or reset the alarm. Looking in the manual it says that the box can be set with a service timer which prevents the alarm from working, could this be the problem ? is there a way around this with a reset code ? The company who installed it which is 5 doors down from my house says they will have to send an engineer all of 25 yards with a minimum

  3. Anyone know of any panels that send alarm signals to a serial port and will also "listen" for any data that is sent back ? I want a panel that can send an alarm signal to COM1 and "listen" for an ACK from some locally connected equipment so that the alarm does not get sent again. I know some Napco panels do it - but they won't release the protocol.

Hi , we have got a optima 2 plus alar, plus manual, we moved into a new property recently, so it is all new, we tested the alarm, and when we set it to go out, perfect, but when we came in, the alarm was ringing, from breaking censor on door, it did not seem to beep until you got to the key pad to put the code in, i am not sure if was ringing from outside, but it was really loud inside, and sure this is not right, i have read the manual over and over, and i cant seem to see what is wrong if it is wrong that is. can anybody tell me if it should do this, when coming back in,

I have recently had a power cut and my key pad downstairs does is not lit up. If the power went off the control panel would normally show an indication that the alarm had gone off, but the the key pad is dead. Does this mean that the battery backup up needs replacing? I have pulled out the fuse spur at the side of the main control panel and the key pad is now working, but not sure that the battery back up is working. The Alarm system is almost 5 years old, any clues? Many Thanks Steve

I work at a shop with a metal front door. The contact on the front door seems to be getting a bit slow at reacting when the door is opened. Said contact activates a "doorbell" so we know when a customer comes in, and sometimes it doesn't beep straight away. I flick the contact and it beeps!!!! Could this get worse? I dont want UK Monitoring involved lol! They dont like me, i particularly dont like them!!!! With it being a entry/exit zone, im worried about the alarm sounding when i unlock the shop in a morning. I believe the panel is a galaxy, with remote keyfobs. The contact is a metal one, with a flexible metal pipe carrying its wire up to the ceiling. Alarm call outs…

My alarm has started to go off about every 20 mins for no reason when its not set. If I don't reset it, it stays quite, but its only the inside bell that sounds. The outside bell stays silent, but will go off if I set the system and walk in. Could it be the batery? as its getting on a bit.

Hi I have a dummy bell box on the outside of my house with one of these 5 year LED that flashes to give the appearance of a working burglar alarm. Recently I've also aquired a burglar alarm keypad which I want to mount within sight of the front windows of the house to complete the appearance of a fitted and working burglar alarm. I'd like to power it up so the backlight (at least) is lit. Q - What sort of voltage will the keypad require - and if left powered on how long would you expect a bettery to last. Further information : Keypad internals state "Galaxy 16 LCD Keypad Rev 0.3 (B0090)" There is space for a small battery 'pack' but no mains/transformer possible. …

Guess what, yes we have also moved into a house with an Optima 2 plus alarm system, and, when I switch the electrics off, the alarm goes off. This happens when we have power cuts, including during the night, and also as we are doing loads of work to the house. The neighbours love us!! Any clues how to disable this feature. Jez

I've got a Texecom 88 & a keystone rx600 to conect some wireless sensors. I'm having some difficulty connecting the two. I found this post: http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/comm...881&hl=keystone but I'm still stuck - in that post, the user ended up using relays - I'm hooking up to the zones on an RKP, so I don't have a lot of room for relays, plus I ought to be able to do it without!. I think one of the things I'm having difficulty with is DP & EOL - do you have to change anytihng on the panel depending on which you use? I can't find any zone settings on the premier to do with this. The keystone is hooked up to the 12v supply to the RKP. The keyst…

I've recently moved into a house about 6 years old with a C&K 800L system. I've got myself a User Manual off the net, but it doesn't tell me how to change the delay times on entry. Currently they are set at 30 seconds and at 63 years old that is a bit short dashing from the car into the house to unset. Can anyone help with instructions to change the delay times Thanks PS I'm in New Zealand and there is a shortage of technical info down here!!!
