Has anyone got any details on a JSB regent panel. A new customer has asked me to maintain their system which is approx 4 years old. An Engineering manual would be helpful as I can't find any details of the manufacturers Many thanks Carl

Chubbs started to have a plastic sleeve stuck to the end station, which would then split from sevice dockets being rammed in and the glue died over time. ended up looking real tatty mess, but i had thought this was the old NACOSS requirements? personally, i've never liked the idea of the spec being so easily obtained and read by those who should not be, or more often lost. so the client gets thei…

Could anybody advise me of any relevent trade show for the security trade. I had the misfortune of attending IFSEC at the NEC last year and as I was not wearing a suit I was pretty much ignored by everybody, also as I do not speak Chinese or Korean 90% of the people exhibiting there should of just left a load a leftlets on a table for all the good they could do. So now my rant is over if anybody knows of any Engineer friendly trade events please let me know

Engadget have a story about Chris Paget (rfid hacker) where he has fooled the gsm protection system and can listen into calls etc. This seems to be 2G only, but as the majority of dualpath signalling devices use this do we see this as conerning? http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/31/hacker-intercepts-phone-calls-with-homebuilt-1-500-imsi-catcher/

The Wireless Power Consortium have confirmed the Qi standards has been finalised. This no means manufactures can produce equipment that can be recharged on a Qi base. This standard is expected to take over for devices such as mobiles laptops etc. Im hopeful that this will allow us to see wireless keypads that can now be feature reach and easily rechargeable. Palm recently achieved this with the touchstone charge for its pixi etc handsets. Do we see pagers, wireless pa's and keypads adopting this standard?

The age old question, do I go NSI or SSAIB but would it be a good for the trade if their was another body to approve companies?. Or is it right as it is now and another body would make it more confusing for everybody.

This picture was taken last night at my sister in law's house. Try your best to ignore the ***** posing and focus on the bottom left side of the frame. There is a little girl/boy in a bonnet, checkered dress etc etc. If you save the photo and blow it up it only gets freakier. The wall in background is a dry stone wall, if that helps.
