I have 2 issues, firstly I want to setup the alarm part set B for night; so that it triggers the timer when you enter the hall, the problem is the hall is set as an entry route for the full set A and the other part sets (the doors are final exits..), so the only way to trigger the timer is putting the hall zone as a final exit too would that conflict with the doors/other settings? Is there a correct way about doing it? I don't want to put the upstairs PIR to final exit because it would trigger if someone went to the bathroom. I also need to replace the keypad because the one I have is broke & touching it can sometimes cause a tamper alarm, I've ordered a new but ne…

Hi all, just after some advice on buying a new system. Its for my work address that is located in a remote location so must have some sort of mobile alert system. I expected to to find loads of options but don't seem to able to find any. I've previously purchased panels from City Electrical Factors that look reasonable (not like a 1980 computer game) but they don't have a option to alert through GSM or link to iPhone etc. I would have thought in this day & age I would be able to buy something that links to wifi & connects to an app. I've seen options on eBay but all look very cheap & more like a children's toy than a profes…

Hello, I'm new to the site and CCTV. I have just purchased a Swann DVR4-4400 with two cameras plus i purchased 1 extra camera. Problem 1- I purchased a standalone outdoor microphone from Maplin UK wich connects via the camera power cord splitter and plugged audio phono into back of DVR. Sound was fine but after a short while it seems to die, it hum's a little then crackles and dies. If i try again later it will work again for a short while...What could be happening?Problem 2- It has 720P resolution but only offers 4 days continuous recording unless i lower resolution to 960H then i would get the 30 days i was promised by the salesman! (feel a bit miss led). Anyway, When i…

Good afternoon Forum I recently installed an Accenta Gen4 Alarm Panel - Metal Case alarm system from TLC-DIRECT and everything is working fine. I wanted to get rid of the PIR's on the wall and replace them with 360 degree PIR in the ceiling (pictured attached). My dilemma is the PIR I currently have 6 core cables wired up and these new ones I want to order from flea bay only have 5 cables which are pre wired from the picture, can someone tell me if they will work with the panel I have or am I wasting my money? any help or advice would be perfect.

I'm about to replace my old alarm system with a Texecom. Looking at the old external bell, there doesn't appear to be any visiable means of fastening - can't see any caps etc that may be covering the screws. Could it just be a pushed on?? The cover is completely faded so no manufacturers names! I can just take a happer to it but wanted to remove it properly - then can use it as a dummy at the back of the house. Thanks.

Hi guys, Thanks to many of you on here, I'm slowly getting to understand the system and have been playing around with it's settings to match it to our needs. One of the things I don't like about the texecom premier elite 24 is how quiet it's panel's internal speaker is. So I've bought a Twin Piezo Sound Bomb from Alert Electrical:- I've connected the red wire to the panel's 12v bell and the black wire to the panel speaker's -ve However it still sounds really quiet and I'm wondering if I've wired it correctly. Could anyone please confirm if this is correct and if so, how can I test that it's working correctly? …

Hi everyone, I want to setup two users for our home and keyfobs, but I'm not quite sure how to do this via wintex and also how I should structure them. For example what is the difference between ENGINEER and MASTER and why do we need both? Also what is the difference between MASTER and STANDARD? Also if I setup 2 keyfobs, i.e. 2 standard users, would I need to carry a seperate master keyfob?

Evening everyone, I've setup my com ip and wintex and all seems to be working great. One thing I'd like the alarm system to be able to do is to send an alert to my android phone. Is this possible and if so, exactly what would I need to do?

Hi everyone, I've setup my Texecom Premier Elite 24 alarm with an ip com and wintex is connecting to it fine. Majority of the alarm seems to be okay and it's more about fine-tuning it and getting to grips with it's advanced features.. Firstly, everytime I arm the system and when it triggers, I go and disable it with the keyfob. But then it keeps stating that I need to enter a reset-code. I know how to enter this code, but I don't want this feature at all because for the moment it's a bells-only alarm without GSM or any monitoring. Is there a way of permanently disabling it from wintex? If so, can you kindly tell me how…

Afternoon I'm looking to DIY install an alarm and CCTV system to a smallish (8m x 8m) bridal shop with one central entrance door, an open floor plan and a basement with a door not in use. I'm pretty handy so I'd imagine a DIY kit would be fine. It appears TEXECOM seem to be well recommended here... A few questions : Alarm System 2 PIR's to shop window looking in? 1 PIR to basement door? Door contact on entrance door External bell box Option to send out texts if alarm goes off. Do I need Internet in the shop? Panic button under counter optional Remote key fob system preferable …

Hi, I have just fitted a high security GRP door, it has an Ultion 3 Star Euro Cylinder, Yale Lock Master Lock Set, Yale TS007 Platinum SBD Handles, Door Chain, Letterbox Restrictor, Laminated glass. spy hole etc I want to get the euro cylinder modified to a thumbturn on the inside, still the same euro cylinder though. I have been told it will effect the Secured By Design rating, which im fine with... but in regards to home insurance how will it effect that? Considering it is laminated glass, they would have to smash and get through the laminated glass first before being able to access the thumb turn so I don't really see a problem. Could understand it if it wa…

I've got a Texecom Premier Elite 48W - DIY installed. There are a mix of wired PIR's and Wireless Ricochet PIR's. No faults or issues on the panel or event log, walk test is okay and all sensors respond, commissioning jumper is removed. The problem I have is, when the wireless PIR is triggered when alarm is armed, the Wintex event log shows "Alarm - Zone 010 Guard Alarm", followed by "Not Reported/Alarm Active" however the bell doesn't trigger. If I do the same with the wired PIR, I get event logs of "Alarm - Zone 003 Guard Alarm" followed by "Confirmed intruder" and "Confirmed alarm" then "Bell active". I can't find any opt…
