July 20, 201610 yr Author comment_448537 The local ssaib installer will install a visonic system with two wireless pirs, one door sensor, two fobs, text messaging service, and relevant certificates for £399 + VAT and £36 for the insurance certificate. I am waiting for the insurance to advise if they do need to have it monitored, if so there is an additional cost. His CCTV price was two cameras HD, a 19" monitor, 1tb hard drive for £700 Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/40280-small-bridal-shop-alarm-and-cctv-diy-options/page/3/#findComment-448537 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 His CCTV price was two cameras HD, a 19" monitor, 1tb hard drive for £700 If the text messaging service uses the phone line, it is complete rubbish regardless of the brand. It was a good idea at the time, but is totally unreliable now - I really would recommend proper monitoring that doesn't rely solely on a phone line. I would also shy away from any wireless, since I can't believe it isn't an easy small space to wire - they are presumably not concerned about the difficulty of wiring the CCTV. With wireless there will be the constant need to change batteries on a regular basis which is best avoided if it can be...
