  1. Hello,I've currently got no alarm at our property and were hoping someone could give me a few recommendations for a DIY HARD-WIRED system that I could install myself. My original budget was approx £500, however I've had an unexpected flood damage to the property, costing me hundreds of pounds, so unfortunately my budget is now no more than £350.I know it's much less, but I'd rather have some security system, than nothing at all as I'm going on a pre-booked holiday within the next 3 weeks. If possible, I'd like to have:- GSM UPGRADEABLE MODERN Much appreciate your help.

Hello everyone, I currently have a problem when people are using the gym facilities without paying their fees. The main issue we've got is that the gym have grown in size which has created a blind spot to the reception area thus allowing people to sneak in. Its only one door that requires access control. I've seen DIY kits that can be bought on eBay but they are standalone systems that would need to be programmed at the door. Also there is four levels of membership 1, daily 2, weekly 3, Monthly 4, Annually Does anyone have any advice? …

  4. Hi Guys, I currently have a 6 year old, wired, Nexus 8 intruder alarm. The PIR in our kitchen was damaged by painters the other day so I am going to have to replace it. My wife's friend works for an intruder alarm company and gave her a Honeywell DT7550UK2 Dual Tec sensor. Was just wondering how I should wire it in? I have attached a photo of the current sensor PCB and the new dual-tech one. All help appreciate guys. Best Wishes, Matthew Attached is a photo of the new sensor!

Hi, I'm planning to replace an old 4 zone alarm and want to extend coverage for the gound floor. So I'll end up with a PIR on the landing and 5 downstairs plus two door contacts. Is the placement on the plan attached OK?

Hello, I've just moved house and it has a risco cpx Alarm and a hybrid wireless module. The problem is when I go to set the alarm, I enter the user code and then press yes when it asks if I want to set the alarm. Then the alarm shows the following screen. !Zone/s on test! No to continue To which you have to press no. Why does this screen show and can it be disabled? Also I've got a 4 button key fob which I've paired but how can I make one of the buttons do a part set? I've looked in the eng manual but could not see anything obvious. My old alarm was a texecom and it was far easier to program. Many Thanks Trev.

Hi. I'd like to replace an old 4 zone alarm system (ADE Concept). I'm quite comeptent at wiring and have a background in IT so OK with reading manuals and programming. Most of the wiring is already in place but I'll have to lay down wiring for a couple of extra PIR sensors. The layout is shown: http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/40103-pir-placement-advise/ I was looking at the following kit: 1 x Texecom Premier Elite 24 (metal) Control Panel CAA-0004) 1 x Premier LCDL Keypad Display (DBC-0001) 1 x TEXECOM PREMIER ELITE COM-WIFI SMA WITH AERIAL (CEK-0002) 6 x Texecom MIRAGE DT PETWISE (ADB-0001) 1 x Texecom Premier El…

Hi everyone. I'm new here and been lurking and reading through threads for the past few days. I'm moving house soon and have bought and pretty much finished programming the Enforcer Homecontrol+ kit. Idea is that when we get the keys most of the alarm set up is done. One thing that I'm a bit confused about are the input types. My confusion probably relates to alarm installs in general rather than specific to the panel I'm using. If i want to be able to get to the panel to enter my code by entering the house from the front or back door should I have all PIR sensors on that route set to "Entry Route" with door contacts for each set to "Final Exit"? …

  9. Hi All, Having been out of the industry for a few years I've come back into it and hit an issue with the texecom 24 setup. I have 7 Zones all wired as NC and without any EOL wiring. (I'm going to expand the system at a later date depending on my cusatomers requirements) I've got the system up and running but the programming is a nightmare!!! I'm using the Wintex software but every time I try to do a walk test the system won't allow me to set this off using the RKP. I've also got issues with arming the system I'm arming and the chime sounds for exit all ok, when I open the Entry there is no chime or disarm tone. I know it's something tha…

  11. InButton - Mobile Access Control - Open & Manage Your Door with Smartphone 1. To open and manage your door with smartphone, access control has never been so smart before! 2. InButton integrates your access control into one Exit Button. With fashionable touch panel button, InButton gives your house fashionable looking. 3. Safer. Traditional small access control systems are usually reader, controller all-in-one design. It means you have to place your controller outside of the door, where is easy to hack. We place the controller into your exit button, it's indoor, impossible to hack. 4. Economic. InButton is a one door controller…

Hello I'm in the process of installing a Galaxy G2-20 but have run into a bit of an issue, Essentially connecting the battery seems to 'break' something. With AC connected, and battery connected the SAB power and Keypad LCD (and Keypad Backlight) turns off. Keypad LED Remains on and AUX Power Remains on. Removal of the battery returns power output & keypad to expected functionality. I've checked the polarity & voltage at various points and all seems good. Anyone got any ideas or seen this before?

  13. Hi Everyone, First of all, I apologise my poor English, as I am not native. I am making a research study on Smart security systems for residential in the UK. I am struggling to get clear information about this segment. I did a similar job for US and it seems that there, they are a bit ahead of the UK and the Continental Europe. As I am looking for Pro channel and DIY, I am using this post only to reach you guys, DIY professionals. Does anyone in the forum can give me some tips about the smart home security systems in the UK? I am looking to measure the size of DIY market, meaning the main brands in the market and the number …

Hello, would like to set a Texecom Premier 816 with a wired PIR sensor in entry hall (no door contact) , and would like to know if this sensor can be active while arming the alarm because the PIR sees me in the hall. (In an old DSC PC1500 I had, door sensor should be closed) Entry/exit zone in installation manual says "The zone can be activated during the exit mode without causing a ‘Fault’ " ,I don't know if zone can be activated only after arming or if it also refers that it can be "active" while arming. Thank you

  15. Hi all, firstly I'd like to say Hi! A few years ago I installed a Gardtec 800 system in my brothers house and it's all been working fine until recently, the outside bell box goes off randomly with the system unset, the family is home so no intruders etc, the problem is there is no fault displayed on the keypad so I'm wondering if it could be down to the battery! If I set and unset the system it operates as usual but does not turn off the alarm! Any ideas peeps? Thanks Mark
