Hoping someone can help. I have spent all week installing six Oyn-x cameras and the box to our house. We now want to be able to view this on our mobile phone but have since found out the App doesn't appear to be available in the U.K App Store. Am I searching for the wrong thing or is there an independent app that would be better? Thanks

  2. Hi all, Old school here ! New house purchased. Now 64 years old. Like a wee project. (Note the word WEE) Pyronix kit 3 seems to be the man. But....................... Why do the makers of many of these kits take great delight in making technology that can tell you that your gaff is being screwed whilst you are on a ship in the middle of nowhere ??? Especially when no one in the street takes a blind bit of notice, nor do the police ! Nor would I after a few whiskies. What is the sense in a battery bell/sounder you have to maintain every year or two ? Get it wired. You know it makes sense ! A…

  3. If the alarm goes off for any reason when we are out, the system doesnt dial out until we return and key in our code to disarm - it then dials out! Weird or what! Any suggestions on how to resolve please ? Thanks Padraig.

  4. Hi I installed this system at home around four years ago. It is based around a Scantronic 9651PD panel, has Honeywell PIRs and uses two Scantronic 9943 keypads (which use proximity fobs). All has been well with this system (since my last post about it) but I had two unusual occurrences earlier this morning. While at home with the system Unset, I got a keypad tamper alarm. I cancelled this but, three minutes later, I got a second keypad tamper alarm (same keypad). I cancelled this and, since then, all has been well (for almost an hour, at the time of writing). I have checked the keypad but can see nothing untoward that might…

  5. Just wanting to check my wiring understanding for the Galaxy Flex 50 with the AG8 Sounder as the manual for both the panel and the sounder is a little confusing. The Flex PCB has the following output connections: 1 2 3 T 0V Based on the manual for the sounder I believe I need to connect: TR- (neg tamper return) to T V- (negative supply) to 0V ST- (neg. strobe trigger) to [OP]2 which I believe is default programmed as STROBE S- (neg. sounder trigger) to [OP]1 which I believe is default programmed as BELLS V+ (positive) I am assuming I can use any +12V connector, e.g one of the three +12V connections from th…

  6. Hello Everybody, I'm hoping you can help me with what is (hopefully) a relatively simple fix; I upgraded the firmware on my premier elite 24 panel from 2.(something i cant rememeber) to 3.2. Since doing so when i press the area button on my control pad in the hall the system goes to part arm 2, The system is set into 2 areas; Area A = Ground Floor and Garage Area B = First Floor The control pad in the hall is set to Area A&B but I havent got the "use keypad areas" box checked in wintex, I tried it and it made no difference. The second control pad is in the second floor landing, This is set to …

  7. I have fully installed a Texecom Premier Elite 24 panel and am now looking for some home made 'upgrades' Id like to program the Digicom Outputs to be able to signal a Raspberry Pi. Looking at the instruction manual, the Digicom Outputs are programmable max current 100mA 'Switched 0V'. Im just looking for some confirmation that Ive got things right. My assumption that 'Switched 0V' means that it is normally open circuit and when activated, will command 12V at a maximum of 100mA? I just need to know as plan to fit a relay to signal the Raspberry Pi that something has happened.

Hello all, I've got OP1 configured to activate on alarm for a soundbomb in an outbuilding. I want the output to de activate after 10 minutes or until the user code is entered. Ive set the pulse timer 3 to 10 minutes and added the pulse timer 3 attribute to the output settings. Do I need to add the latching attribute to make the output de activate upon code entry or will it do that by default with the pulse timer attribute? Thanks in in advance for your help! Aaron

A good many years ago I installed a Bosch Abacus Evolution Alarm panel and 3 zone expanders. Not long afterwards the series was discontinued. I was told subsequently, that actually this a Castle Caretech panel which had been re-badged by Bosch. I bought some Castle Caretech prox tags and I was pleased to find that they worked. I want replace my panel now, possibly with the Castle Caretech Euro 46. Is there any chance that my existing zone expanders will be compatible?

I'm just in the process of purchasing the above combination and my question is whether I need to invest in a panel or not? I'm wondering if the comwifi can be installed without a panel, so that I can then use the iPhone app as my panel once installed and therefore not have to fork out for a panel at all...

Hi, I am hoping that someone may be able to tell me how I go about configuring Two Texecom Veritas keypads. I have fitted a new Texecom R8 panel and two keypads for my son. Both keypads were wired straight back to the panel and not daisy chained,so that when I applied power I assumed that according to the installer manual they would automatically configure their different addresses. This did not happen and I was not able to operate the alarm from either keypad.I disconnected one and the alarm worked fine.It would appear that both keypads have defaulted to address one, causing the problem. My question how do I configure them separately to 1 and 2. I know what the book s…

  12. I have a relatively 'smart 'house' which is connected to my phone and a number of peripherals around the house. I have built most of it myself and want to know if I can disam a Texecom Premier alarm using a discrete input from the 'house system'? I couldnt see anything obvious as the zones are the only input (I have no communicator board!). There are plenty of outputs which I have programmed to output on alarm to the 'house system' to perform various tasks. Its the ability to disarm Im a bit stuck on. Any ideas??

  13. Hi All, I've just installed a Texecom premier elite 48 with ricochet expansion. System is up and running perfectly for full coverage but there seems to be a number of ways to programme "bed time". Currently my system is all PIR's with a keypad in the hall. PIR's are all set to guard currently. Upstairs is set to area B, downstairs to area A. Arm suite 1 (Bedtime) is all of down stairs but will include Garage and Shed eventually. Arm Suite 1 also sets silently which is good as we have a small person in the house. So the error state that I've found is that as soon as I come down stairs the alarm is sounds instantly…

I have has a wireless alarm system installed by myself, ebay, all door contacts and pirs work fine in the house. However in my garden i have a building which i keep parrots in with dimensions as follows. The whole building is made of metal box profile roofing sheets 35ft x 20ft. Its height is 6ft at the front and rises to 8ft at the back, the whole roof area is also made out of metal box profile roofing sheets except for two areas. From front to back of the roof to the left side of the building I have a one metre section of plastic profile sheeting (3ft x 20ft) to let the light in, at the right hand side of the building I have a similar strip but with wire m…

Hi, hoping someone can help. I have an original BT VP1000 Home Monitor unit which I understand is a re-badged Visonic PowerMax. I recently (March 2017) added a new wireless keypad (MCM-140) which has been working perfectly - however on a couple of occasions the main unit has reported a fault that it is unable to communicate with the keypad and then sends out alerts. I am able to clear the alert from the main unit by arming/dis-arming the alarm from the MCM-140 and all is well for a while. I'm guessing that the main unit and keypad communicate with each other at a set time-frequency (for checking purposes) and for some reason this is b…
