Hi, I'd like to connect the relay output from a fire panel into a zone on a texecom expander so I can monitor its state through a dialler. However, I don't want to have to reset the panel everytime the fire alarm is activated. Is there a zone type or attribute I can use that will only activate an output programmed as mimic and automatically reset when the fire alarms output is closed? Thanks

Hi all, I have installed a honeywell galaxy flex V3 and everything works like a charm. While using it we are running into some trouble where hopefully someone can help: When the alarm is set and we enter via the front door, we would like the keypad to beep as a reminder the alarm is set. At the moment it remains silent and we forget the alarm is set, only to be reminded by a lot of noise after 30 seconds entry timer. Is it possible to have an audible entry timer? preferably from the keypad off course? Thanks, Mike

Hi All I've got a Honeywell galaxy g2 44+. The system served me well for many years but was decommissioned for about a year due to building work (when I say decommissioned I mean the builders decided to remove power and unplug it all). Anyway I've got it all installed again, I want to check a couple of things please:- I previously had just an Elmdene internal speaker (16ohm) connected to the panel output 1002 (SPK driver) and to +ve AUX. Now I want to connect a second speaker as well as the Elmdene. I have a CQR Alto Extension speaker (Piezo) rated at impedence better than 16ohms. Can I wire the two speakers in series? The instructions online for the Alto say…

Hello, Recently fitted a Powerlink2 to my Powermax Complete, have followed online guides and setup port forwarding etc so I can access it remotely via my own DDNS link - but can't connect to it using the app or get email notifications. I've set the IP address in the panel comms settings to be the Visonic server as the guides said (can't remember the IP off the top of my head) - but when I do a check or deliberately set off the alarm it fails. Also - what should my 'ID' be set to? There's nothing specific that I can see on what I should put there. Thanks Matt

I've had a bit of a lurk around the forum and I wondered if you guys could give my plans for the addition of an alarm system to my small 3 bed house a quick look over. My queries are: 1. Should I add additional PIR's in the other bedrooms or maybe just one additional one on the landing? 2. Do the locations of the sensors look sensible? 3. I have been looking at a Texecom Premier wired system and intend to run the cabling as a star configuration in 8 core cable. Is this of reasonable quality? Are there any known issues or errata with them? Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi Almost three years ago I installed a system at home (with a bit of assistance from this forum) based around a Scantronic 9651PD Panel; I also installed a number of Honeywell Is-215TQ Quad PIRs using FSL wiring. Zones have only one PIR connected. No modifications have been made and no works have been undertaken that might have interfered with the system since it was installed. At night, the system is part-set so that all the entrance doors and the ground floor are covered but the PIR on the first floor landing is excluded. Last night I attempted to part-set the system at bedtime as normal. The system beeped intermittently (as usual) as I crossed the hall and…

  8. Hi guys, I have an old Abacus Panel (By DA Systems) it's been solid ever since we had it installed. The Bells on the outside are looking a bit tired now ....So I wanted to change / modernise them. So the question is ...will a modern Siren (bell) something like a Texecom Odyssey work with this old panel? Thanks

Hi all....i'm after some advice please. I need an alarm which is NOT wireless. It must have autodialer facility. It is to protect a small house in Bulgaria so upto 4 zones would be ample. Remote operation is also important. Having spent hours searching it seems that all autodial alarms these days are wireless. Can anyone suggest one which isn't? Thanks...

Hi all. I have a Honeywell Accenta Mini G4 Alarm panel with LCD keypad (8SP399A), 4x PIR sensors and one AG8 and one AG6 bell boxes. All is working fine until there is a mains power cut at which point the system behaves as if there is no power at all (ie, no backup battery in the panel, which in fact there is): - AG8 and AG6 sirens and strobes are triggered (they ring with an intermitting pause every couple of seconds) - LCD keypad display is on but not responsive to any buttons, LCD display gradually fades to blank over about a minute - Red power LED on the panel fades gradually until it is off I suspected that the lead acid (AB21) battery was dead but removed…

Hi looking for a bit of advice. Got a premiere 24 and Friday morning it was showing charger fault. Running late I set the alarm as normal. Got home at 5 and the sirens were going off. But the keypad was now dead. Nothing. Had mains to control unit. So had to get the ladders out and pull the cable to the siren in the bell box to silence Neighbour tells me the sirens were going all day without a break much apologising later. Not had a chance to look at it today. But will have a look Sunday. Where should I be looking for fault, or is it a replacement PCB required Friday I had a quick check in engineer mode and the battery was showing 13.7 volts but 0 current. I kno…

  12. Hi all, Please bear with me on this, it's my first post and I've limited knowledge on alarm systems. I self installed a 9948+ some years ago, it has door/window contacts and PIRs feeding into it - all works well and has a autodialler too. The street lighting in my estate has been changed to LED and it's left all the houses in the shadows. I want to improve my security particularly when the alarm isn't set; It dawned on me that the alarm has a chime function that can be set to ding anytime. So, is a IR beam detector (or 2) the way to go to 'protect' my drive and back garden during unset alarm condition (with a chime) and what happens when the alarm is full/part set ? Does …

Sorry just to start off straight away with a problem but I'm pulling my hair out here and prohaps someone can confirm what I'm thinking. I today wired up my alarm all ran with new 8 core cable. So I have left them tamp circuits bypassed with the link in the main unit until I know it's right so to speak. Anyway the problem I have is that my bell box is making two different sounds when the battery link is not connected and time link is still on "test" it will sound as normal now when I put the battery link on it then seem to make another sound over the "normal" sound I have wired the bell box as it says in the Accenta book and checked wiring more than once, Also when I do…

Hi, I've got a galaxy flex 50 I installed myself which has been running fine for a few months, linked to selfmon and happily sending event alerts by email - using the Honeywell Ethernet module. I was making some changes to my Internet configuration and had the panel disconnected for the internet for a period of time. I've since got it reconnected and am able to connect from to the panel over Ethernet, however I cant seem to clear the fault from when it couldn't connect out. The panel displays "system fault reset required". I can enter mgr mode and see 3 faults - comm fail arc, comm fail rec1, +hb fail comm 4. I can press ent to continue, then enter enginee…

  15. Hi, Not a complete newb when it comes to intruder alarms - I look after physcial security (intruder, cctv and paxton access) of 105 buildings at work, but this is purely a post from someone who is installing a DIY home intruder alarm and wanting to learn to help with diagnostics etc at work. I've just bought some Texecom kit and have started the install... I thought it would be useful to document here as I found the forum users to be extremely helpful as I was doing some initial research - so hopefully will help others in future too as google searches nearly always end up here.
