  1. Hi Guys, At first I would like to say hello to all of you. I've recently bought a house where there is old ADT installation which I would like to remove. However I'm not quite sure if I can do it without triggering anything(I know alarm is deactivated and there's no contract with ADT at the moment). I would normally first do a search but I don't even know what model it is, that's a picture of it: Picture of old ADT central panel If I would start taking everything apart, disconnect cable, disassemble panel will it trigger the siren? Is there any additional 'hidden' module that would trigger it? What would be the best way to approach that? Al…

I've been asked to install some security lighting at a private dwelling, but the client only wants it to be activated when the alarm is set. I'm assuming, or rather hoping, that the alarm panel has some form of switched output when the alarm is set. Do most panels have this? (I'm not sure as yet as to the make/model of this panel) Also, can anyone suggest a relay to use so that I can switch on the 240v security lighting when the alarm is set? thanks.....

Hi, I hope you guys can assist. I have just DIY installed a Pyronix Enforcer but no matter what I attempt, cannot get the door entry delay to work. The door sensor (MC2-WE) is set as an 'Entry Route' and the delay to about 20 secs but the alarm is activating within just a few seconds of the front door opening. The control panel is confirming its the door, not any other sensor which is triggering it. I also have remote control key fobs so have set those to disarm the system, which is fine, but would like to get the door delay working the way it should in case one of us forgets the key fob. The door sensor is obviously working but I can only guess I have som…

Evening gents. Really just getting to grips with a 'new' premier 48 system. Was quite conversant with the veritas as a DIY'er - but work has meant I've had little time play so have lost the knack! On my old veritas system, if I wanted to trigger my autodialer by activation of alarm, there was a suppression mode on the bell boxes. Can I do this on the premier 48 and if so how? Advice appreicated.

Hi all, I have a Europlex Signet 100 installed and have just added a GSM module to the system. When an alarm is activated, notification is sent via GSM to my phone and it all seems to be working fine. When I try to send a command to my system from my phone via text eg to carry out a full set or to view the system status, nothing happens. according to my phone, the text was delivered but nothing happens on the system. What am I doing wrong with this? Have I missed a setting somewhere along the line?. My system firmware is v 1.0.0 and the firmware version on GSM module is v 1.1 SMS Auth is set to caller id only. Any Suggestions would be appreciated. …

Hi this is my first post here and to be honest after viewing the forum it is likely to be a baptism of fire. I would like to give a more subjective opinion of the current range of YALE security alarms than I see posted on these pages. I have been installing YALE wirefree alarms for just over 8 months. If anyone will have an idea about how reliable these systems are then I volunteer other than YALE development staff to know as much as anybody, so what has it been like? I have installed over 80 YALE systems a more or less 50/50 split between the 6200 and 6400. They have been installed in everything from a council flat to a large detatched house ranging from a system wi…

Hi all, I'm new here :-D. I would really appreciate some help. i'm just in the middle of renovating my house and have pulled all the cables for the alarm. however, i'm not too sure which intruder system to get. Ideally, i'd like downstairs and upstairs to have their own zones and to have a dialler. i wouldn't mind paying good money for something decent. Thank you.

This topic maybe exhausted but I couldn't find s definite answer hence why I am asking the question ; On a scantronic 9651, software version 4 can you have multiple magnetic door contacts on the same zone using FSL? I have currently tried this however I am getting tamper each time a contact is opened and wondered what could be the cause as I have tripled checked the terminations and can't seem to find the fault. I am able to exit engineers mode without any tamper however when a contact is opened it goes directly into tamper, however if I have just one contact connected it works fine. I am using 4k7 for alarm and 2k2 for tamper.

Looking to get an alarm. Had a company come out and give me a quote on a Risco Agility 3 set up with a couple of extra PRIs (4 in total) and an eyewave it cam in a touch over £1k Reading on here and other places it seems the Risco is not a good make? Now if I could save a few quid and install a better system I'd be game. What wireless setups should I be looking for? I want one which phones through to a guarding company and I can operate from my (android) phone. Thanks in advance

I have installed a Knight Industrial magnetic door contact on a sliding patio door connected to a Galaxy Flex 50. It's been working fine for a few weeks and in the last week Ive had a couple of false alarms from the contact. First time round I looked at the panel diagnostics and was seeing the resistance fluctuate a little between 1000-1100ohms while closed. I took the contact apart, reconnected and things looked like they had settled down fine. Last night it went off at 2am.. so I disabled the contact. Today I set it to log and chime, and sure enough it went off later in the afternoon and on looking at the diags it stayed open at around 1500ohms (obviously while the door…

  11. Hi I've got a Premier Elite 48 and I want to upgrade the firmware to v3.0 which has just been released. However I'm balking a bit at paying £30 or so for the programming board, which seems like a lot for a a chip and a coupe of capacitors. I'm trying to find some info about it to see if I can build my own. I've already been able to DIY the USB cable, the GSM adapter and the COM-IP interface (documented at http://gw0udm.wordpress.com if anyone is interested) so I'd quite like keep going. I wondered if anyone knew what the pinout of the programming port is? As an alternative, if anyone has the official device (CDH-0001) I'd love to see a good quality photo …

  12. Would any of you chaps with a Texecom Premier Elite firmware flasher PCB take a quick photo of both sides of it and be able to post it up or send it to me?

Hi we have a GT490X that occasionally complains of 'low-volts' or something similar. I assume it is the backup battery packing up. I would like to investigate changing the battery myself, or at least put the job out to tender. The alarm is a 'non-maintained' alarm, but has been recently worked on by the original installers ACE. Do I need to request that ACE provide me with the engineer's code? If I do, should I expect that they would do this? Would I be able to change the battery without it, or would I risk setting off an anti-tamper system that I could never reset by just using my normal password? As you can probably tell, I don't even know enough to be sure I'm asking t…

  15. Dear All On a G2 44 - Is it possible to use a keypad proximity Keyfob only to set an alarm when leaving the house, but disable it so it cannot be used to unset the alarm on return? I'd like the unset to be done by entering the appropriate code at the keypad. I believe this can be done on the RF Keyfobs but not sure about the proximity ones. Thanks Nikki
