Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone here can help! My mother's home alarm started some time ago to exhibit problems and now seems to be totally dead - quite possibly down to the panel. The alarm system itself appears to be an Accenta - possibly a g4/8 mini. It's difficult to tell as the panel box is plain apart from a red light. I have removed the A.D.E panel board though - and purchased a direct exact working replacement from eBay for fitment (the code on the processor is identical). The alarm was first fitted in 2001 i believe. I'll try and give you the most information I can so you can possibly help. My goal is to fit the new panel board and set up the new passcode ready fo…

Hello, Anyone experience with these Premier Elite IR PIRs (AFD-0001). I just installed a new Premier 48 panel and thought I would change out the old manky looking PIRs that are probably 10 plus years old for some new texecom ones. On power up 2 work fine,3 of the 6 have status LED lit all the time and dont change state during a walk test. The final one has a dim glowing LED but does get bright when activated and seems to work ok during the walk test. They are all wired the same and jumpers were all set the same before power up. Anybody else had problems with these units? Seems a very high failure rate for new units but I fail to see wha…

Hi there, I'm really hoping someone can help me with this infinite prime issue. I installed one at my own house a few years ago, no issues and recently saved me from a burgulary after going off when the intruder broke in. I understand most of the operations and must have done something right to make mine work 3 years ago. Im now trying to install one at my mums house, I'm completely stuck though as it won't let me access the 9 programming menu, just says access denied. I've just the code stated in the instructions 1111 which allows me to access some of the menu, just not the nitty gritty of programming. Thanks for any help

Hi wondering if anyone could help I'm doing an unoccupied rewire on a house for a builder and part of that was running the cables in for a intruder alarm. finished of the snagging today and the customer has asked if I would mind fitting the alarm as they've been let down by the person who was supposed to do it. I had a look at the kit they've ordered and they have a premier elite 24 panel but texecom reflex pir's.....Am I right in thinking these pir's are normally open? If they are then obviously wont be compatible using double pole end of line method as they need to be normally closed. can any one confirm this? Thanks Lee

Hi im currently having issues programing a keyswitch in on my veritas r8 plus and want to know if anyone can shed some light on my issues. I have just built a garage and extended the alarm into it but im wanting a remote keyswitch so i can drive straight in. I have wired it all in and have been told the keyswitch will only work on full set. Therefore on full set i want all zones omitted except zone 7 (garage). On part set i want front and back door on entry, hallway and kitchen on access. Lounge, dining room and garage on instant. Remaining zone used for keyswitch. The problem im having is i cannot omit everything except the garage when…

The "Full Reset" button on my Veritas 8 keypad has now stopped working. I enter my user code and press the button but nothing happens. The "Reset" button works fine and I get all the usual beeps and lights as I go through the arming process, but at the final step...Nothing! I replaced the battery in the control panel, but this didn't cure the problem. Can anybody help on this. This Texecom/Veritas system is about ten years old.

I've changed the battery in one of the PIRs. The display is telling me that I have a tamper fault with this PIR and to press tick to clear it. I've done this several times but can't clear the fault. I'd appreciate some help

Could someone advise whether I need to change the battery in my bell box? It still sounds when both mains power and battery are disconnected from the control panel (although I’ve only tried it for a few seconds). However, it’s been in place for nearly 8 years. I know the control panel battery needs changing every four of five years; what’s the average lifespan of bell box batteries? I’m not sure what kind of bell box it is, unfortunately, but the control panel – installed at the same time - is a Gardtec 580. Also, if the battery does need replacing, is there a way to do this without getting deafened by triggering the tamper circuit? I do have the engineer code, bu…

Morning everyone, With it now being darker, I've got to be more security conscious than before and think about family safety, especially with high burglary rates around our area. My main goal is to somehow enable the alarm to be activated at night-time, so that if someone breaks in downstairs, then the alarm triggers. My current setup is 3 pirs in living/kitchen rooms and 1 in hallway, which is also where the keypad is located. I also have a pir detector on the upstairs landing. All of the alarm settings can be controlled with my pc as I have wintex installed and it's networked to the alarm. Here is the dilemma:- 1. If w…

Hi. Have bought a new Yuasa 12v battery for inside my Abacus panel. Is it just a case of unplugging the old and plugging in the new in Engineer mode? Not sure about it affecting programming etc. Thanks.
