I recently removed a DT from the wall to run some cabling behind it. It went into tamper as expected when the cover was removed and my user code silenced system. I now don't seem to be able to clear the tamper fault having remounted on wall and replaced cover. I have engineer code but cannot find how to reset. Any ideas?

Hello, I am installing a Texecom Veritas R8 system. The Walk Test and Sounder Test were both normal. Now, when setting the alarm and simulating an intrusion, nothing happens, in particular there is no 12V tension appearing between A and B on the control panel. There is also no change on the keyboard display. When I "Full" set the alarm, the alarm seems to be set normally ("Unset" light turns off, keyboard displays says "Full Set Suite 1 . 3 . . . . ." for 5 seconds, and then says "Full Set"). Thanks in advance for your help, Maggie I am installing a Texecom Veritas R8 system. The Walk Test and Sounder Test were both normal. Now, when setting the alarm and simulat…

Hi, I have a Veritas r8 alarm fitted with no issues until yesterday. The alarm went off when set with no zones showing at fault. Looking around the alarm i found that one of the keypads is not working correctly. Every time i press a button it thinks that i have pressed omit button. My question is:- does this mean the keypad needs replacing or re-programing? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Hello all, I've recently visited my dads house to help with a few bits he has moved into another house and does not need the fitted wireless alarm, so ive disconnected it and taken it. After the inside detectors were removed i proceeded to the bell box outside to find that it was an ADT dummy bellbox... hmmm... so the when the alarm is triggered the internal siran on the control panel is activated at that point calls the call center... swipping a small black fob will allow you to arm and disarm etc. http://tycosecurityproductsemea.com/English/Pdf/Catalogues/Intruder_Split_13_11/Intruder_UK_Ch17_Panels_Le_Sucre.pdf So the link above is the system, accept with an additi…

Was asked by my elderley next door neighbour to look at his alarm. Panel is Guardall balmoral 5. Back up battery was knackered which was causing alarm on power cut. Also external bell box did not sound on alarm condition. Internal panel sounder ok. So replaced battery and replaced bell box with odyssey 3e bell box. The positive supply hold off, negative sounder trigger and negative strobe trigger connections im ok with. Im confused with the negative hold off supply which according to the diagram seems to come from the bottom tamper connection. Also the return tamper looks like its wired into the series tamper loop and then into the other tamper connection on the pane…

Hi Folks Hope everyone is well. I am looking for a bit of advice. Any advice is appreciated. I currently have a standard honeywell door contact sensor on my front door and patio door. It is already wired up & working fine. I want to upgrade them to Viper GLX Shock Sensor With Contacts. Do i simply cable the new Viper exactly the same as the existing sensor? Or do i need to use extra wiring back to the panel? Thanks in advance - Enjoy the weekend. Regards Zemme

Hello, this is my first post. I'm an electrician with a basic level of knowledge about intruder alarms. We are building a new double garage in the walled courtyard behind our garden, which is going to house my valuable kit including my car, van, tools, workshop and other items. The garage has full power and light and allowance for a separate MCB way for a panel supply The garage will have no personal door, nor will it have any windows in the side walls (planning permission issues). There are two 7ft 6 steel up and over garage doors and a velux roof window; these are the obvious point of attacks. Because of the walled courtyard arrangement on our estate, the garage is …

I am setting up a Siemens Intrunet SPC security alarm and I would like to find a wired outdoor siren with strobe light that could be used with this system. Or is it better to buy a separate siren and strobe light? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Is it possible to install 2 or more bell boxes to a Texecom Premier 816 (with uk bell module) without having to use SCB mode, if I install an additional 12v power supply? If so, what's the best way to connect it? Sorry if this is a simple question with an obvious answer

Hi All I would like to ask for a recommendation regarding Glass Break Detectors. I will be purchasing a Texecom 24 panel with an 8 zone expander. I have been thinking the Honeywell - Glass-Break Detector FG1025Z or Texecom Impaq G Glass Break Detector (IMPAQG). Which is more reliable? Cost wise they are about the same give or take a few pounds. Or would you recommend another brand? Thanks for reading.

Hello, this is my first post in the forum. I'm an electrician by trade but do alot of cctv work for my customers aswell. I'm currently doing some work on a horticultural nursery, I have installed a camera to cover their diesel tank as they spend £1000 a week refilling it for the use of their vehicles, and they have reason to believe diesel is stolen on a regular basis. Due to the nature of the business huge distances are involved and the diesel tank is the best part of a kilometer from the office where the dvr is installed, and there is a hill and plenty of trees in the way aswell so no direct line of sight. I brought a wireless sender and reciever kit through ebay di…

Hi All Hope you are all well. I hope i am posting my query on the correct thread. I would dearly appreciate any advice that is provided for my query. I recently had a Honeywell Galaxy G2-20 installed by my uncle. He has only installed a couple of these Honeywell alarms previously, however he is stumped on a certain issue. My setup is as below. 1 X Honeywell Keyprox MK7 CP-038 Keypad (Address 0, Downstairs) 1 X Honeywell Keyprox MK7 CP-038 Keypad (Address 1, Downstairs) 1 x Honeywell RF Portal (Address 4) The issue that i currently face is that the only functioning keypad is downstairs. From an overall perspective, the alarm functions fine with the keypad installe…
