Hi I have a Texecom Premier 24 fitted with 2 smoke detectors, when the detectors activate they set of the alarm inside the keypad, so not very effective as a hazard warning! I already have 2 external bells fitted for the main alarm, does anyone know if I can fit an indoor siren just for the smoke alarm? And which compatible one would you recommend? Thanks for any advice.

Hi, Just wondering; on the Veritas Excel, as the dc conversion takes place on the circuit board, unless I'm mistaken, there isn't anywhere to fit an AC Filter to cover all DC outputs... unless I want to mess around with a soldering iron! So, I'm think the next best option is to just install it across the AUX output, as this is where all my sensors feed from... Your thoughts? Ta Danny

Hi there, Just recently bought a new house and after a bit of googling, confirmed that the already installed alarm system is the ADE Optima Compact 6 Zone alarm. (there is no info about it in the house). I have 2 pets, a small dog and cat and currently their movement will set off the alarm. Does anyone know if these pet friendly sensors are compatible with that model? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Activ8-Tolerant-Detectors-Pack-HW3A8P/dp/B002NQDJ3O/ref=pd_cp_ce_0 Would be a lot cheaper than getting a new system fitted. Also, if they are compatible, are they easy to change over? Thanks in advance.

I have previously intalled a Texecom Veritas in my old home successfully and by chance our new home has the same alarm that was professionally installed, which I have the engineer's code for. The RKP was old and the buttons worn so I purchased an LCD keypad to replace it. This is the only RKP and the dip switches are set to default OFF. I powered down the system by turning off the mains and then entered the engineer code and PROG. The old RKP then began to make a strange continuous sound and activated the internal alarm. I disconnected the battery at the main console and then took out the old RKP. I replaced the RKP, checking and double checking that the connections we…

I have a Karizma + system with two remote pads, which has been working reliably for years. Today we had a 10 minute power cut, the panels showed AC as expected. The battery was recently changed so no apparent problem. But when the mains was restored the AC displays remained and the keypads do not operate - no number entry and no beep. There is obviously some sort of hangup because when I took the cover off the main unit it did not tamper alarm. All the fuses are OK, the mains PSU is feeding the board and so is the battery. There is 13v on all the outputs. One significant point is that the red led on the main board is not lit as it should be under normal conditions. …

hi I am replacing an external sounder at the front of my house with a honeywell Ag6. I would also like to mount an additional Ag6 to the rear of my house. Is it as simple as connecting cable to the terminals of sounder at front of property and running cable through the loft to the rear sounder terminals Or is having 2 sounders overkill? Blinkysiren

hello I would like to add for example a honeywell informa speech dialler but could i connect the wires from the dialler to the terminals inside the Ag6. This would make for easier in this instance to connect the phone line to a suitable point in an upstairs bedroom where the dialler and phone point are thanks blinkysiren

Hi All, I have an Accenta G3 Mini fitted in my house. I had some new Front and Rear doors fitted yesterday and I disabled the 2 zones using the procedure in the engineers manual. The problem is that now I am trying to re enable these zones using the procedure above but nothing happens and the zones are still disabled. Procedure used Prog engineers code 5 1 (zone 1) 1 (security) Reset Reset Reset After doing this, the noise that is made sounds more like a negative Beep than a confirmation. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi All, Need some assistance its been bugging me for months, but cant find a fix, im going mad. i keep getting "1:01 REM LOST" see attached. It seems to happen at least once a fortnight, once i reset it using the engineer code works fine for a couple of days, maybe even a week. I think it means the remote keypad is lost, but im not sure which one. I checked both the keypads the wires look securely connected. Any ideas how i should troubleshoot? or what I should do? Setup below Manvier M800 8-40 Zone Grade 3 Alarm panel. (installed in 2008) Manvier MSNODE8 Zone Expander (installed in 2008) 2 x Menvier MKP 3 (replaced both keypads in oct 2011, as both had a fault…

I'm looking to place a couple of standard PIR's within my below ground garage space to cover all possible points of entry, however, I need some advice as to the placement, taklng into account the various entry points and other factors. Below I have pieced together a montage of the garage space. There is a main garage door and a window next to it, two windows at the rear of the garage, a back room and window (out of shot) and the door up to the house at the centre right. Other factors that may effect things are that the garage door, and immediately above it, are ventilated via louvres and mesh. The two windows at the rear, plus the back-room window are sometimes left ope…

Coming to the end of my install for this alarm but I have a few questions which the manual does not seem to cover. They are: 1) I have two bell boxes and the basic wiring is fine. However, the diagram shows that one of the bell boxes has what appears to be a link from 'hold off (-)' to 'RTN'. Is this the case or something else? 2) In the 'First Power Up' chapter of the engineer's manual it says to make sure the links are connected across PA, TAMP and T-A. Thing is I already have one bell box wired into 'T' and 'A', i.e. RTN to T and Hold off (-) to A. Am I supposed to disconnect these two wires and reconnect the link prior to firing up the system or will the bell bo…

Hi, Have just replaced Accenta LED RKP on my Optima Compact G4 panel for a Accenta LCD and all that comes up on LCD display on power up is Accenta G4 RKP F131-01-111. The alarm still arms and disarms Ok from RKP with my code. Is F131-01-111 an error code as thought the display should show welcome and time and date and arming when alarm set etc? Anyone seen this before?. Could it be a faulty LCD RKP, or any additional setup required? Any ideas please let me know. Thanks, Dazzerd
