hi all i have a veritas r8 panel and lcd keypad when pressing the pa button and triggering the alarm the keypad gives out an audible alarm until the code is entered or panel reset what i wanted to know is, is it possible to disable this ? i would like the alarm to be as silent as possible there is no outside or internal bell box sounders connected etc just a gsm dialer i would prefer no sounds from the keypad if the pa button is activated or if the alarm is activated, is this possible thanks jay

Hi all, I'm going out my mind with frustration. I've got a Honeywell Accenta/Optima with 2 zones (zone 1 mag contact on door and zone 2 a PIR). I've set both zones 1 and 2 as "used". On all 3 programs I've set zone 1 as "timed". On all 3 programs I've set zone 2 as "inhibit". I've set and armed the panel, then proceeded to pass through the PIR. Instead of triggering the alarm immediately as I would expect, the entry timer starts. The only way I've managed to get the PIR to trigger the alarm is to remove the inhibit completely, which is useless as I cannot enter zone 1 without tripping the PIR. Help!! What have I done wrong?? Hi, Last week my parents were woke in the night by a large kick to their front door - a foot print was found the next morning on the door. They have an alarm - what are peoples views on impact/vibration sensors on the door or door frame - are they worthwhile or do they create more false alarms than they are worth ? The door is a composite door. Thanks

Hi I purchased a brand new unused SD1 dialer on ebay and the audio quality on playback is very poor any way of improving quality and volume of recording. I have tried recording with cover removed not much better. Any thoughts. email Please read the rules before posting thanks

Hi, a family member wants an existing camera replacing, but they would also like another camera adding to the same location... Im guessing due to the age of the previous one, its a BNC cable, Is there any way to add another camera and share the BNC cable some how?

I've got a menvier sd1 which im putting in for a family member, Everything has gone ok apart from the telephone wiring, I cant seem to find the installation manual anywhere & cant download it from here cos im not trade!! It seems that the telephone wiring is different from my sd1+ which i have at home. any help would be great Thanks

I have recently had to change a a few PIR detectors which were working fine however they were old. I have a Scantronic 9651 unit connected to a Scantronic 9941 keypad. The new detectors are Bosch Blue Line Gen 2. I have wired them in and they are showing power and the LED lights up. The System will set however the alarm will not activate when the detectors are activated. I have tried taking the wires out and re doing them but still no joy. Even on the Walk Test they will still not activate. I am at a loss as to why can anyone please help? Dan

Hi, I have looked around for an answer but cannot find one, it maybe that I do not know the correct terminology which is stopping me finding a relvant post. If any kind soul could help it would be much appriciated! Have an old Scantronic 9100 which I got of ebay for £16. Remember them as a child, Brilliant bit of kit have it installed in a two room garage. Working brilliantly with a new battery. Only have one small programming issue. Greetings all, I have recently installed a Scantronic 9651 system at my French inlaws house in, you guessed it, France. It was perhaps foolish of me to have installed my first ever system over a 1000 miles away, but the job is done... and the consequences must now be lived with. Any help will be much appreciated. The system appeared to be working perfectly for 48 hours when set then unset in the usual manner, however I was called (when I got back to the UK) to say that the alarm was disarmed and then an hour later when unset it went into alarm by itself. Probably a pretty basic question for the pros here but if I have an external PIR with one set of alarm contacts, how could I trigger the alarm input on a DVR and trigger a relay to turn on a flood at the same time? I'm thinking if I wire them up at the same time in parallel on this single pair of contacts, something's going to blow...

Evening all, Got a question for you.... I'm adding a honeywell informa dialler to my CP8L. I plan to connect to PGM1 and program as alarm. My question is if anyone knows if PGM1 will be 0V or positive on activation. A quick scan on the installation manual and i couldnt find that out. I assume positive but would like to double check as the informa can be progammed as positive or negative inputs. Many thanks in advance guys Dave

Hello one and all, This is my first post here, having been an avid reader for the last week or so that I've been wiring up my new intruder alarm. I now have everything wired up and have dealt with all faults on the panel, bar one: I cannot seem to solve a persistent "Bell Tamper" fault. The equipment involved is: Scantronic 9651 panel ADE Reson8 bell box Connected to each other via 6-core alarm cable The panel and bell box have different names for the various terminals and their respective instructions don't explain how to connect up to each other.
