Wiring Up Bell Box (Ade Reson8)

Featured Replies

Hello one and all,

This is my first post here, having been an avid reader for the last week or so that I've been wiring up my new intruder alarm.

I now have everything wired up and have dealt with all faults on the panel, bar one: I cannot seem to solve a persistent "Bell Tamper" fault.

The equipment involved is:

Scantronic 9651 panel

ADE Reson8 bell box

Connected to each other via 6-core alarm cable

The panel and bell box have different names for the various terminals and their respective instructions don't explain how to connect up to each other. I searched this forum and found the answer here:

The panel just reports "Bell Tamper" the whole time though. Are the instructions at the link correct? Is there another way I should wire the two to eliminate the tamper fault?

Any help would be really gratefully received. I just need to sort this and then I can get programming!

Thanks!!

:geek:

PS The manual for the Reson8 is here: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/DataSheets/Ade/TSRESON8_Install.pdf

As post 2 on your link.

Are both status LED's working on the bell.

One shows Hold Off OK, the other Tamper OK.

Try linking a -ve to the tamper return terminal on the panel if this clears then it a problem with the bell .

Gentlemen (I'm assuming!)

Thank you very much for the prompt replies.

Your tips for testing it alerted me to a wiring issue which I have now fixed and the panel now displays "No Faults".

Many thanks to you both......now for some programming!
