Hi I was sold an Aritech cs450 last week. Ive been told since that I should have not been sold this control panel as they are now obsolete. I called the shop and they said they would exchange it for a hkc Alarm panel. Just one question, as the alarm panel is all connected up and working, is there anything I should know before disconnecting it. I'm afraid that the external bell will go off, and stay going off till its battery goes dead. Thanks

  2. Hi guys Voltek dont do a remote control for their system. Need a controller with a key fob that switches a 12volt output. Micromark does one but it switches 230v -spoke to micromark to see what voltage switches the 230 circuit but didnt know... Otherwise any advice on a linked security lighting manufacturer would be welcome. Thanks

HI I've just installed an aritech cs450 control panel to replace my burnt out cs350. Everything is working ok, but I need a bit of help with 2 things. I need to conect the old pir from the cs350. On the cs 350 control panel there was a dedicated input for a pir, but on the new cs450 there doesn't seem to be. I tried just connecting it into one of the spare zones but it is not flashing away (powering up). Any Ideas. Also my Zones are like this zone 1 Front door zone 2 upstairs zone 3 back door and downstairs windows zone 5 Panic. Can someone give me a detaile…

Hi Guys, been lurking on here for a few months now and now finally found the time to install a Texecom Prem 48 system. All went well apart from an embarrasing self inflicted wiring error, but..... I programmed the panel using Wintex. Zone 2 is a guard/access PIR. Under diagnostics all appears to be well and I carried out a succesful walk test. Then I noticed a detector test button which I clicked on and 60 secs later it reported a 'fault' for zone 2. The only way I've found to clear the fault it to factory reset, and so long as I dont test the system again it all works fine. I did try changing the PIR and that made no difference. Is 'fault' in this case a general …

I have turned down the voice volume to minimum on our new Visonic Powermax+. We still find that the voice and the beeps (both arming beeps and the keypad beeps) are still too loud, and I hold my hand over the speaker when programming the system to keep our sanity. I don't think that the beep volume is controlled with the voice volume. I know that I can turn off the voice completely, I am still worried that we will be annoying the neighbours if I can't reduce the volume of the beeps. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris

Hi Having installed several Galaxy panels myself (for friends, etc), I am fairly comfortable with the programming and configuration, but I'm stumped by an error message I'm getting on one. It's a Galaxy 60, and I've got a Texecom dialler attached. The line fail output of the dialler is connected to a relay to activate a zone on the Galaxy (relay to convert the voltage output to a switch with resistors etc) and works OK - except after an activation of the line failure, whenever a user tries to set the system, an alert message is displayed, along with the option to press ent to continue setting. How does the alert get cleared and therefore removed? The line fail zone i…

Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to have a delay between my CPX alarm triggering and the Vo-comm unit transmitting the alarm message to my mobile phone? The reason being that on occasion my wife has set-off the alarm by accident and although she has reset the system within a short time, I still receive a call from the CPX. If I could program a v. short delay it could help to prevent me receiving these 'false alarm' calls. Also, if there were a delay of, say, 15 seconds, I had wondered whether the vo-comm unit had the capability of reporting all of the zones that had been triggered in this time (i.e false alarms in the past have only involved 1 zone triggering, w…

Hi, I'm in the process of installing a Homelink 55 system. I have all the wired stuff workingbeautifully, (existing PIRs plus two new, new bell box etc) the RFX and key pad are talking to the panel and all seems well. That is, until I try and get the two 703r contact transmitters to 'talk' to the RFX unit. I have had the rfx in learn mode, either with it allocating channel or after I select a channel - I've got the learn mode enabled on the 703rs. The 703r unit flash away quite hapily and, no matter how close I put them to the RFX flashing away "--" or 16 or reconfigure the rfx to start at 09..... nothing.... not a jot..... nada. I've wired the tamper across chanel 1 so…

Hello all, Was having my birthday breakfast this morning when suddenly without warning the internal bleeper started going off on my Galaxy 8. I typed my unset code in but nothing happened, eventually I pressed escape and it stopped. Now I have a rapidly flashing LED and asterisks' flashing across the screen. It won't respond to any keypresses (except to beep at me) my set/unset code doesn't work, interestingly neither does the engineer code. Just wondered if anyone could offer some advice?

  11. Hi, I need some help in installing the speech dialler - I've tried connecting the O/P of the bell to the inputs of the dialler, but it doesn't work and the dialler doesn't attempt to dial out. There is also an 8-pin connector on the circuit board for a communicator. If I buy one of those 8-pin headers, could I connect the relevant pins to the dialler, or are these pins purely for communicators like the 600? If yes, does anyone know where I can buy these from, Maplins don't do them, and I have an RS Components nearby but don't know what they are called (headers?). Thanks

Hi. I have setup 2 modes ( full and bedtime ). I was wondering if there was an option on the Texecom Premier 48 or a way that I could configure the panel so that if it is part set for bedtime and it does trigger for any reason only the internal alarms on the keypad/s sound. I dont see the point of the external sirens going if I am in the house unless the PA is used. Ideally I would only want the external sirens to operate on full set mode only. Thanks.

Dear thesecurityinstaller... I run a business in Home Automation, Lighting Control & Design and a few other bits, and we thought we'd branch out into Alarms too, so had the local Honeywell rep round, and spoke to one of his colleagues to organise comissioning from them (which is great stuff indeed!!) but i'm struggling a bit with the wiring of the sensors (viper vibration detectors and honeywell dual-tec's) Wiring the MK7's and touch-centre is a peice of cake, but with the sensors, I understand the +/- V side of it (obviously) but the other terminals on the sensors are bugging me a bit, I know this is a bit of a strange question for a company with a dimension panel,…
