Texecom Pir Fault

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, been lurking on here for a few months now and now finally found the time to install a Texecom Prem 48 system.

All went well apart from an embarrasing self inflicted wiring error, but.....

I programmed the panel using Wintex. Zone 2 is a guard/access PIR. Under diagnostics all appears to be well and I carried out a succesful walk test.

Then I noticed a detector test button which I clicked on and 60 secs later it reported a 'fault' for zone 2.

The only way I've found to clear the fault it to factory reset, and so long as I dont test the system again it all works fine.

I did try changing the PIR and that made no difference.

Is 'fault' in this case a general wiring fault ? Any other ideas ?

worried about an intermittent fault occuring now.

Thanks in advance for any help. Off to bed now will try again with a fresh head in the am.

What Pirs have you used?

Texecom Prestige compact mini PIR's throughout the house. Zone 2 is in the corner of a room 30ft by 18ft.

They don't have a test terminal do they?

IIRC Test is for grade 3 Anti Mask detectors.

No they don't have a test terminal.

I'm surprised only one detector is showing a fault, however it simply resets from Wintex now.

If you think its only for anti mask detectors I'll ignore it. Everything else appears to work fine.

Thx
