Hi All, I triggered the alarm of my in-laws by using the wrong code. Somehow the alarm is off but now all the red lights are flashing including TPR(I guess is Tamper). I know the right user code but probably in panic i might have reset or done something as now when i put the right code nothing happens and all the lights keeps flashing. Any help would be highly appreciated. Its Intellisense Securit 800L and I am attaching the image of the control panel. Mitesh

Hi! Getting round to fitting two contacts, rear and front door - both new self installed PVC doors. At the moment, I have two G3 CQR SC570 - according the manual the operating gap is only 20mm. The problem I have is the two recommended diagrams for mounting them don't fit my situation - i.e. They can't fit side-by-side as the door & frame isn't level. The other option of connection them at the arrowed corners won't work unless I raise the contact from the frame to match the door. I didn't pay for the contacts so worse case scenario I can look at the flush connectors like the CQR FS610/WH G2. My question is - will the flush connectors be the "best" for mounting in…

Hi all Hoping someone can help.... I have a Gardtec 816 and have purchased the Risco Wireless exspansion receiver which it states is comatible, howveer the lead is an RS485 connector and the panel does not appear to have the corresponsing socket ! After a bit of research it looks like older panels (mines 2006) require a radio interface module. Has anyone any experience of this Thanks in advance

After fitting my Texecom Veritas R8Plus a couple of years ago I wished now I had more zones. If I change the panel for a Premier 24 can I still use the Veritas keypads?

Hi All, Firstly like to say hello to you all and thank you for the great site! My question is: I've moving into a house very soon, and got the opportunity to lift floorboards, before the flooring goes down! Which wired system do you recommend? I've been told a menvier m-series are good? Ideally i want a system which is audible and can call/text me I've never installed a system before and i am not a spark! I love a challenge!! Can you also Recommend a site that sells them at a reasonable price? Thanks

  7. Sorry for what really seems a dumb question. I am quite a clever chap, but cant get my head around this simple thing... I'll centrally local my alarm panel. I'll position all my accessories (2 x rkp, bell box, mag switch, PIR etc) I run a SINGLE 6 core cable from each accessory back to the panel. Now, i understand i can star, or parallel wire my rkps, just doubling the wires up in the terminals, but i cant get my head around the fact that if i have a PIR on zone 1, and another PIR on Zone 2, and another on Zone 3 and each of them connects to the alarm panel using their black and red wires for alarm (parallel), how to i link the tampers. Im my head im seeing an ind…

Hi All, Just planning the install of Accenta Mini with LCD Keypads. I have 2 x Keypads, 3 PIR's and 4 door contacts,a bellbox with strobe and interlnal sounder to wire in. Just looking through the engineer manual, and see that everything has to be wired in in series? For the keypads, we wanted one by the front door, and another by the back door, and the alarm panel will be in the middle of the house (pantry) Am i correct in thinking i need a cable run from the panel to the first RKP, and then a cable out of this RKP to the next? I cant 'star' wire this in, and just have a single wire from each RKP meeting back at the central point? Seems a waste of cable and more …

I have a Gardtec 370 and need to move the keypad, sensor cable and the bell box cable. I have already moved the keypad and sensor cable by using the engineer code but am afraid to disconnect the bell box cable in case I set it off. Can anyone tell me if the box with sound even though I am in engineer mode once I disconnect the cable. The bell mode is set to SCB with tamper off.

Hi fellas... I've just moved into a new house and would like to fit an alarm. I'm a spark by trade but have been out of the business for over 600 years... or so it would seem by the way stuff has moved on. I would like a system that's hi spec, I like the sound of the Honeywell Galaxy 2-20 control panel and probably Honeywell detectors. Does the Galaxy sms me on an alarm? Is this panel a good one? Are you allowed to recommend an online retailer and if you are who? thanks for any help

  12. Hi, I''m thinking about installing a Texecom Premier Alarm system and I cannot decide between the Premier 24 and 48. I live in a fairly standard 3 bedroom semi. As far as I can see the 24 does everything the 48 does (although obviously to a lesser extent) and has enough capacity for everything I require. The only thing that I am unsure about is the number of Areas. The 24 only has one whereas the 48 has four. What is the difference between a zone and an area? Will I need more than one area? Secondly I plan to fit an Odessy 1/E bellbox. Can I fit two of these (one back and one front) to the same control panel? DO I just fit them on the same terminal points (i.e. in pa…

Hi, When I moved into my house 5 years ago, I found that it already had an alarm installed (Veritas R8). The alarm setup consists of: 1 sensor in front room - downstairs 1 sensor in the rear room - downstairs 1 sensor on the front door 1 keypad - opposite front door 1 main control panel in the front bedroom - upstairs 1 external bell sounder There was no documentation on the alarm (guides etc), neither was there any stickers or info to say who installed the alarm. However after doing some digging on the internet I managed to get a copy of both the installation & user manuals. The alarm setup wasn't a problem until recently when my wife told me that we were go…

I have just replaced my old Scantronic 9200 Panel & ext bellbox (failed after 20+ years) with a NEW Scantronic 9448 Panel and a Texecom Odyssey 1 Bellbox. The alarm panel appears to be working as it should but the external siren/strobe is not triggering when an alarm state occurs. I have checked and double checked all the wiring and connections. If I disconnect the bellbox +ve supply from the control panel (panel in engineer mode) the bellbox immediately triggers.. it stops when I reconnect the cable. Am I missing something or could either the panel or bellbox be faulty, how can I test to ascertain which one is the culprit. Many thanks..... Phil.

I have a Visonic Powermax+ system in my home, installed in June 2005. It's the Class 6, 869 mhz version, which at the time I was advised this was the only option which qualified for a police response. I fell out with the company that installed it over it's maintenance (lack of!) agreement and when I tried to get a new contract elsewhere was told that standards had changed and my system no longer was Class 6 compliant. I've never had it professionally monitored... but I wanted the Class 6 option in case I ever did decide to go that route, trying to future proof the system. I have not used the system in over a year due to a recurrent fault which I couldn't diagnose prop…
